The Lone Druid must command his trusted Spirit Bear with pinpoint and tactical orders just as well if not more so than his own actions. While the druid is fragile, his companion is the furthest thing from, and can keep him safe by being on a constant counter offensive. Becoming Rabid, they can gain a boost in their movement and attack speed, both useful for retreat and reentering a fight--a pattern the Lone Druid must master. The bear itself can equip items, and passively Entangle foes it attacks at times. The Druid can eventually metamorphose from his ranged, less durable state, into a melee, sturdier bear form.

Syllabear was spared a time of great strife due to the deeds of his people. Sensing their settlement's impending destruction they turned their child into a bear and sent him into the wild. Syllabear grew up strong and savage, like the bears that inhabited the forests of his home. Using druidic powers, he can enter a state of almost rabid frenzy, and even call powerful bear companions to aid him. Awakened into his elven heritage by Furion the Prophet, Syllabear has regained his true elven form, and brings the bestial spirit of the bear to the battlefield.

Tips for true Form
• True Form turn Syllabear into one of the slowest base MS Hero (280MS), with Boots of Speed (335MS) but lv 4 Rabid (402MS) will remedy that.

• Before maxing Rabid, its best to stay in Syllabear Human Form. Treat True Form as a panic button. It can be used to dodge stun and provides instant +450Hp at Lv6.

• Max Level True Form (and Battle Cry) and Synergy provides Syllabear with +1000 HP, +14 Armor and +60 Damage making him the Tankiest Hero in Dota.

• Syllabear Illusion also retains the +4/6/8 Bonus Armor from True Form (not the Bonus Armor from Battle Cry).

17+ Stats

Skill Build Justification:

• First priorty is get the Spirit Bear to Level 3 ASAP for the 20% Entangle.

• 2 Levels of Synergy early to improve Rabid duration to 30 seconds.

• True Form is taken at Lv6.

• The next priorty is to Max Rabid. Rabid has 30 seconds cooldown with 2 lvs of Synergy. So that means permanent Rabid.

• Lv 4 Spirit Bear is delayed because I dont see the usefulness of the extra 400Hp and the 33% Magic resist. Which is much scarier? A Rabid Spirit Bear with faster MS and Attack Speed that procure Entangle more or a slower meatier Bear. While Demolish is too situational.

Item Build

Core Item:

Hero:

Boots of Speed - 500
Bracer - 525
Headdress of Rejuvenation - 603
Diffusal Blade - 3300

Total Hero Cost: 4928

Bear:

Stout Shield- 250
Orb of Venom- 550
Vladmir's Offering - 2050

Total Bear Cost: 2850

Total Core Item Cost - 7728

Core Item Justification:

• Bracer to boost Syllabear HP during early game. Any experienced ganker/player will go straight at Syllabear first.

• Headdress of Rejunevation for even more stats. Provides gradual healing for both Syllabear and Spirit Bear.

• Diffusal Blade provides Syllabear with a reliable disable. A Purge follows by an Entangle by the Spirit Bear often means Death. The Feedback provides a deadly DPS especially with the increased Attack Speed from Rabid.

• Orb of Venom stacks with Entangle to provide extra Slow for the Spirit Bear.

• Vladmir's Offering (or Ring of Basilus) helps to push lanes faster. All the auras benefit both Syllabear and the Spirit Bear also your team.

Starting Item:

Hero:

Circlet of Nobility - 185
GG Branch - 53
Tango - 90

Total Hero Cost: 328

Bear:

Stout Shield- 250

Total Bear Cost: 250

Total Starting Item Cost - 578

Starting Item Justification:

• Circlet and GG branch for +3 stats.

• Melee Stout Shield for Spirit Bear helps during Jungling and Laning.

Item Build Order:

- 500
- 150
- 550
- 190 - Complete Bracer
- 350
- 200 - Complete Headdress of Rejunevation
- 175
- 325 - Complete Ring Of Basilus
- 1000
- 1000
- 450
- 850 - Complete Diffusal Blade
- 350
- 300
- 900 - Complete Vladmir Offering

• This is just a general guideline for the Item Build Order. If you need the <insert item name>, just get it first.

Luxury Item:

Hero:

• Upgrade the Boots of Speed to Boots of Travel. The teleport makes push lanes faster and the extra MS certainly helps.

• Upgrade to Diffusal Lv2 when when the Diffusal Lv1 run out of Purge charge.

• Extra MS. Extra 2 Tanky Bear that help Pushes. Not to mention they also have Feedback from Diffusal Blade.
• Take note that Mirror Image dispel buff on caster so summon the Illusion first then only cast Rabid and Battle Cry.

• Nothing much to say about this item. The game should be ending by now.

Bear:

• Buy a Boots of Speed when Syllabear in True Form starts to outspeed the Spirit Bear.

• Buy more Armor for the Spirit Bear when physical attack starts to hurt. Increase Spirit Bear EHP againts physial damage. Can be upgraded to Assault Cuirass.

Game Play

Early Game:

• Early Game is when the laning phase happens.

• As soon as Syllabear is picked, level and Summon Sprit bear asap to negate its long cooldown.

• Select a lane, preferable a sidelane or jungle directly from Lv1.

• When laning, increase chance of last hit by attacking together with the Spirit Bear.

• When the opponent is being aggressive, harass with the Spirit Bear.

• When Jungling timed yourself with your ally to surprise gank the lane from the jungle.

• Try to farm for the Core Items ASAP.

Mid Game:

• Mid Game is when most ganks happens.

• Syllabear will be one of main the target for ganks due to his carry potential.

• Most experienced Gankers will ignore the Spirit Bear and aim straight at Syllabear.

• Use Syllabear's True Form to dodge stuns and a panic button with its +450hp and +4 armor burst.

• When retreating use the Spirit Bear to attack the chaser. The Spirit Bear should have 12% Slow from Orb of Venom and 20% Entangle.

• Whenever chances comes, counter gank the opponent gankers with the surprises Syllabear has in hand or help from team mates.

• Push the Tower after you have won a small skirmish or a team battle as Syllabear and his Spirit Bear are also good pushers.

• Syllabear can start to farm the Ancients or Roshan with his Spirit Bear as the Tank.

• Syllabear should be in Bear Form most of the times after Lv4 Rabid unless he needs the extra movespeed to cover more distance.

Late Game:

• Late Game is when most team fight happens and the time where Heroes with Carry potential like Syllabear shines.

• At Lv16, Syllabear Ultimate provides him with +1000 Hp, +14 Armor and +60 Damage. Which is almost equavalent to a Heart of Tarrasque, the Armor from Assault Cuirass and the damage from a Sacred Relic.

• After getting the Diffusal Blade, Syllabear can gank any lone hero with Purge and Entangle from Spirit Bear.

• In Team Battle, Syllabear should be the tank and main damage dealer. Engage the battle with the Spirit Bear first then only followed by Syllabear himself.

• Use the Battle Cry when the battle is about to start because the skill has only 6 seconds duration.

• Aim for the squishy DPS Hero first and purge them if they try to run while tanking the damage with Syllabears super high HP and Armor.
