Hello! My name here is dsbn and you can call me as such. Improved version, I think.
Just to start things off, I decided to make this guide solely because I love playing this hero. He's my favorite hero and I just enjoy the fact that he can be so versatile.

This guide is not for pro's but it isn't for the newbs either. It's for people who want to learn a thing or two about this hero from another person's point of view.

If anyone has noticed me in the forums, then you'd definitely get an idea why I chose to make a guide about this hero. Anyways, lets begin:

Hero Introduction

The Morphling is a dynamic hero, capable of giving or taking massive amounts of damage, at the will of the player. His Waveform allows him to escape or initiate fights with ease, while his Adaptive Strike gives him a versatile, powerful nuke or stun. His Replicate allows him to make a copy of a hero, and to take the place of the copy in an instant. Morphling's greatest strength, however, is his ability to transfer his agility points to strength, and vice-versa, allowing him to take on the role of tank or damagedealer at a moment's notice. The Morphling is a dangerously mobile enemy, who must be treated with caution before he takes you by surprise!

Background Story
The Morphling, nature's magnum opus, the pinnacle of evolution, can force his liquid body to flow over opponents in a massive wave, forcibly moving himself as well as injuring his enemies. At a whim he may change the composition of his body, trading strength for agility and vice versa. Capable of manipulating his energy into either disable or damage based on his strongest attribute, the Morphling's most disturbing ability creates a literal clone of a chosen target, forcing them to face their own reflection as he crushes them in their confusion.

III. Hero Stats:

19+ 219+ 317+ 1.5
* Affiliation: Sentinel
* Attack Animation: 0.5 / 0.5
* Damage: 38 - 47
* Casting Animation: 0.3 / 0.51
* Armor: 2.7
* Base Attack Time: 1.7
* Movespeed: 285
* Missile Speed: 1300
* Attack Range: 350
* Sight Range: 1800 / 800
As you can see from these stats, he has awful starting base damage, but it will eventually get better since he gains 3 of his primary attribute per level. Another thing to point out is his below average MS. 285 is no laughing matter. Solve it ASAP with a BoT.

He gains 6.5 stats per level which is quite high for a hero, but his starting stats are something to be considered since they're not that good for a hero who relies on it. Stats solve this hero's problem, which is what this guide will focus on mainly.

IV. Pros and Cons
(+)
-High damage nuke with awesome range (1000)
-Nuke doubles as a blink
-Each of his skills has 2 or more uses and benefits
-ALL his skills can be used to escape
-Great pushing power
-Easy farming
-High agi gain
-Good attack animation
-Fast missile speed

(-)
-High mana cost for your nuke
-Low starting agi for a hero who relies on it
-MS is WAY below avarage
-Item dependant
-Early game mana problems
-Low starting base damage

As you can see, the pros outweigh the cons, but the cons have a bigger impact to your early game which is what we need to get through to become what everyone will soon fear at mid- late game.

V. Skill Build Justification
Waveform
Deals 100/175/250/325 damage in a 255 AOE. Morphling is invulnerable during Waveform. Costs 140/150/155/165 mana and has an 11 second cooldown. 1000 cast range. 1255 actual range (including the AOE).
Your main nuke. The high damage it gives allows very easy first blood attempts. It also doubles as a blink, which can help save your ass. You can go through cliffs and trees or any unpathable terrain with this so abuse it.

Adaptive Strike
Deals 20/40/60/80+ 0.5/1.0/1.5/2.0x your TOTAL agility in damage and stuns for 0.25-0.75/1.5/2.25/3.0 seconds depending on the ratio of strength and agility. Knockbacks for 100-300 distance. Costs 100 mana and has a cooldown of 20 seconds. Cast range is 600/700/800/900.
During laning phase, getting this kill is primarily for the stun. At late game though, this skill becomes your heavy nuke, able to dish out 400-500 magical damage depending on how high your agility is.

Morph
Allows to Morphling to gain or lose some strength or agility. Gains two subskills.
Morph (Agility Gain)
Converts 2/4/6/8 STR to AGI per second. Costs 20 mana.
Morph (Strength Gain)
Converts 2/4/6/8 AGI to STR per second. Costs 20 mana.
The conversion is much smoother now since it converts 2 points at every level but with much smaller time intervals when you level it up. 1/0.5/0.33/0.25 are the respective number of seconds it takes to convert 2 points. This skill can make you deal HUGE amounts of damage, or tank it. One needs very quick hands to use it effectively.

Replicate
Morphling creates a literal clone of a target. The illusion lasts 30/45/60 seconds and has all the properties of an illusion. It deals 50% damage and receives 100% damage. Costs 25/25/35 mana and a cast range of 700/1100/1500.
Morph Replicate
This skill replaces Replicate once an illusion has been made. Using it will make Morphling instantly take the illusions place. Costs 150 mana.
Your ultimate, though it may look useless but it's actually the reason why you're second to Tinker in terms of global control. You will be using this skill more often for farming than for ganking. You may also use this skill to escape. Note that this skill merely moves you away, and any projectiles about to hit you before using this skill will still hit you after.

7- Waveform

9- Stats
10-13- Adaptive Strike
14-16- Replicate
17-20- Morph
21-25- Stats

We max out Waveform first for obvious reasons. It doubles as a blink and a nuke that can help us get kills early on as well as escape from serious ganks against us which will happen most of the time since you are the carry. We take stats next to solve our mana issues. Also, you must learn to understand that Morphling is a stat- whore, and is highly dependent on it and more stats are needed for our other skills to compliment our gameplay effectively. Replicate is taken at later levels since it is at this stage of the game where we will be farming for our items. More will be explained about it later on. Morph is taken last since it will only be used to its full potential at late game, when we have our items and are strong enough to convert some points.

VI. Item Build and Game Phases Justification
Game Start:

Adds +1 to STR and INT and +10 to AGI. A set of tangoes for regen. Get this if you find it difficult to last hit. It also builds up straight to our core.

3 Wraith Bands give us a good number of stats and a Magic Wand for the burst heal in sticky situations.

Now, any lane is good for you, but if you chose to start with the Bottle- Crow strategy, then go for mid, otherwise, stay on the side lanes where you can build up your core safely.
Now I'll explain how your skills are effective at different parts of the game.

During early game, Waveform is one of the strongest nukes out there. It's also one of those skills that allow you to get FB with ease due to the fact that it moves you as well as dealing damage which is very vital.

When going for a first blood, it usually becomes possible at Level 3, when you're 1st skill deals 175 damage. Yes it's not that much, but together with a lane partner, it is possible.

These two are my favorite lane partners. SK has a stun and slow in one skill, while Ogre has it separately, but can spam it more.

Adaptive Strike is not recommended early on. 100 mana for 10-19 damage isn't worth it. By level 7, when Waveform is maxed, you'd have 3 levels of this skill, which means it's damage multiplier is 2.25x. Morphling w/o items and stats at level 7 has 37 agility. 37x2.25= 83 damage. Not even 90. And you pay 100 mana for it. This is the reason why it is gotten later.

Morph is what makes Morphling what he is. It's not effective early on though, since you have neither the mana nor the HP to make it useful. Best to leave it for later.

Replicate won't be used 'til later. If an illusion makes you feel safer than go ahead and take it. It is after all a cheap way to defend your lane while you pull creeps to level up faster, but it's too risky and is thus not recommended early on.

Your basic core build is this. The Salves would be replaced by a Bottle if you started with the Bottle- Crow strat. 2-3 Wraith Bands Provide a small increase to our stats which are important to us. Magic Wand as always for the burst heal to HP and mana. TP scroll for going to lane's or escaping sticky situations.

Now, as for the Boots, there is only one which we will need, though I shall explain when and why the others are not needed.

Now, Power Treads is the standard choice for any hero because it gives +8 to a certain stat as well as the ability to switch it to comensate for the situation which is very effective. This is viable on Morph only on 1v1 games. Though it can be gotten when you cannot get enough farm for

This item. BoT is the most recommended Boots for Morph. It gives you global control as and it compliments your escapes very well with Waveform. Get these if you can farm it up before the 22 minute mark. If it has past beyond that point, then chances are you won't be getting it, at which case you go for Power Treads instead.

I don't see why you should even get this. Mana problems? Get a Perseverance.

I've seen a few games wherein Morph had these Boots instead of PT or BoT. The only thing that you would want from this is the damage, and even that is negligible since we get damage from stats, not raw damage.

VII. Allies and Enemies
Allies:

Stunners are your best lane and team partners. Never leave home without one.

Everyone with a slow can be good as well. Heroes with a slow usually have more than one disable.
Special Mentions:

With him, your Waveform now has a stun. He is arguably the best supporter out there, if not only second to Dark Seer.

I shall show in the form of a replay how this guy is a great ally.
Enemies:

He's a counter to everyone. Just avoid him until he dooms someone else.

An AOE Doom. His combo, though only last a short while, deals a shitload of damage if you're caught in it.
Special Mentions:

All these guys have impale based stuns. They can't be avoided by going through it. You will be stunned if you try to. Either avoid getting stunned, or use Adaptive Strike to push them back and interrupt their casting. Note that Linkens will not block their stuns when they targeted the ground instead of you.

He steals the one thing you rely on, Stats. He can be taken down with the EB combo, but best stay away unless you're sure to kill him before he gets to pounce you.

The one person who can get to you without destroying any trees, thus isolating you two and forcing a 1v1 which she is really good at. TP out since she doesn't have a stun, otherwise, use all your skills to take her down. She will be difficult.
VII. Replays
Morphling at Garena 4v5. Played with my friend Melderv and my other friends. This replay shows how to effectively use EB and the farming techniques of Replicate.
Lifesteal Core Morphling. The game ended before I could get any more items. Shows how lifesteal is a good orb for Morphling when coupled with a Frost Attack.
Tiny and Morphling. Unregistered map is fail of parser. But it's a good game.
Hectic Morphling. This replay hows a better aspect of farming with Replicate and abusing the global control it gives. Also went with the anti- mage core on this one. A very nice game.
IX. Closing Remarks
First off I would like to thank Melderv for the BB code tutorial.
Icefrog for the great game.
And all my other friends who I've played with.
