foreword

hello readers this is my first guide on playdota note that i'm still experimenting on this hero so feel free to give some suggestions and also note that english is not my native language so there might be some grammar and spelling mistakes.

you can see that ymir is a meelee hero with average damage his movement speed is slightly above average ( average of 300 )
and a very nice attack animation here are his strength and weaknesses:

(+) high strength growth
(+) nice starting armor
(+) high agility growth
(+) has a pseudo escape mechanism ( snow ball )
(+) skills with a slow
(+) great crit with a pseudo "tosh"

(-) low int gain which will make your mana pathetic for a caster like you
(-) has a pathetic casting animation
(-) mana comes from items and allies
(-) melee (gonna get harrassed)

you can see that some of his cons effect his early game which make this new guy a mid-late game hero,his ultimate can save your allies if you know how to use it but more to that later.

skills

ICE SHARDS

Tuskarr compresses 5 shards of ice into a ball of frozen energy that damages all enemies in comes in contact with. If the ball comes in contact with an enemy hero or reaches its maximum range the shards are released, creating a barrier that lasts for 5 seconds.

note this is your nuke , farming , chasing and ganking skill short cooldown but takes a heck of a mana so be carefull not to spam it alot.


SNOWBALL

Tuskarr and any nearby allied heroes roll in a quickly growing snowball towards the target enemy unit. Any victims caught in the snowball's path take damage and are briefly stunned; the final target takes 40 extra damage and 0.25 extra stun duration.

note this is your pseudo escape mechanism and your chasing tool it has a mini stun so you can stop tp and chanelling spells it also deals some damage so its a very nice skill indeed.



FROZEN SIGIL

Tuskarr summons a Frozen Sigil by calling upon the deepest cold of winter. The Sigil creates a snowstorm which slows all enemy units within 600 range.

note this is your slow , this skill takes a brief moment to cast so u better cast it before you initiate to battle the sigil follows tuskar and it has a little bounty of 90/100/110/120

WALRUS PUNCH

Tuskarr prepares his mighty Walrus Punch; his next attack will do a critical strike and launch the victim into the air. The victim will be slowed upon landing and take damage.

note this is your main damage dealing ability it has a pseudo tosh which can be used to sa7e an escaping allies so your allies will lo7e you if they are escaping with a red hp. it has a short cooldown and it can ne7er miss ( curse u evasion )

you know the rest
notewe max out ice shards first because its your main nuke and has a shorter cooldown/le7el its mana stayes the same so its no problem there,we take only one leVel of snowball for escape purposes ( since we are playing a pub game where most people only cares about farming early game ) we max frozen sigil second for the slow and ganking purposes,we take ice punch whene7er possible

items

-and the new smoke of deceit a really great escape mechanism to stop that pesky first blood attempt

*core
-magic wand
-2x wraith/bracers/nulls
-power treads
-kelen's dagger
-void stone
-tp scroll

note
-we get magic wands because simply its the cheapest and most effective item in the game ,

-wraith or bracers or nulls is your choice get wraith if you are confident with your farming skills ,

-get bracers if you're harrassed alot ,

-get nulls if you think you need some early mana before void stone ,

-treads i think is the best boot for tuskarr will be disccussed in the which boots? section ,

-void stone is for your pathetic mana feel free to upgrade it to perseverence if you have a good start ,

-dagger will be disscused later and i don't think tp scroll need anything to say about

which boots??
power treads vs phase boots vs boots of travel vs arcane boots

you might be asking your self
Q:i am a stinkin' seal/walrus (i don't care) why the heck do i need boots, for only one leg?
A:since nothing makes any sense in dota you will need boots.

Q:well which boots?
A:this is what this section is all about noob ( no offence )

*first let us take out the boots i think we don't need but feel free to buy it according to the situation
-boots of travel = this boots with wings is simply too expensive but you may want to sell your other walking boots for a flying one later game where you want to end it permanetly so you want to pushhhhhhhh... !!!

-phase boots = you don't really need the phase your skills already puts your enemy on ice,but you really need the damage though for the crit but i think some other dmg items will cover it

lets look at the boots i recommend

-power treads = this boot comes with a wooden leg , 10 str/agi/int, IAS, AS , and MS . great for survivability and therefore i recomend this boot fo tuskarr

-arcene boots = get this sparkly boots if you are doing worse with your pathetic mana and you are playing as a surpotter where your job is harrasing and you are also a mana source for your team.

OPTIONAL / SITUATIONAL
this is kind of a up to you section since tuskarr is a strength hero you would probably get vanguard HoT etc but here are some items i recommend

-BKB= sick of those magical attacks ??
-blade mail=get this if you are the centre of attraction
-vanguard=lots of phisical attackers out there
-hood of defience=you hate those nukes
-ghost scepter=OMG god strength,battle trance and omni slash better avoid that
-MKB= your walrus punch doesn't miss but your normal attacks does
-khadagar's pipe if insight=if you are getting hood why not ?
-lothar's edge=good replacement for dagger but i prefer dagger disccused later in the guide
-cranium basher=you don't like slow you like stun.

luxury

-heart if tarraque=this should be in your core it provides some survivability but its too expensive so its a luxury.

-assault cuirass= provides AS for yourself and your team , armor for your self and your team and a negatif armor for your enemy , you tell me
