Lanaya, The Templar Assassin


Right about to start...

First at all, I need to tell you people im Brazillian, so my english is not that good. Also, I don’t know how to attach pictures so I won’t put any. This guide is about a hero that can become seriously imbalanced if well played. Lanaya can trick people to death without problems. Let’s talk about her!




Character Story

The apprentice of a legendary creature from Aiur, Lanaya is a psychic adept who specializes in strategic assassination for the Sentinels. Her psionic abilities manifest in and out of combat, and can be used to amplify damage while attacking, to protect her from enemy assault, or cloak herself invisibly before lashing out at an unfortunate passerby. And so more often than not, the foes that encounter the Templar on the battlefield find themselves dead and buried, their lives cut short as she fades back into the shadows, waiting for a new prey.

Lanaya's Skills


Refraction

Ability Type: Active

Ability Hotkey: R

Manipulating psionic energy around herself grants Lanaya a mystical refraction of light that protects her from external harm and gives her bonus damage for a limited number of instances.

Effects : lvl 1 - 20 bonus damage, 2 Instances

Comment: An owning skill; able counter lion's ultimate, lina's entire combo, that sniper's Fu***** ultimate when running, and damage at all. Also gives you 80 (yeah, I said 80!!) bonus damage for free!



Meld

The art of Shakuras allows Lanaya to conceal herself at any time of the day and strike from the shadows with her armor-shredding blades. Deals bonus damage and reduces enemy armor for 10 seconds.

Level 1 - 50 damage, -2 armor
Level 2 - 100 damage, -4 armor
Level 3 - 150 damage, -6 armor
Level 4 - 200 damage, -8 armor

Cooldown: 7
Manacost: 50

Comment: Lanaya's most famous skill, makes you very trickable becouse it gives a 200!!!(WTF)EXTRA damage when hit someone and reduces target armour by 8! NOTE: It means you have a 80+200 bonus dmg for free when melding with refraction.




Psi Blades

Using her psionic powers, the Templar causes enemy units behind her target to feel the same pain as the target itself. This psionic power extends her attack range.

Level 1 - 40 Bonus Range, 320 Spill Range.
Level 2 - 100 Bonus Range, 320 Spill Range.
Level 3 - 160 Bonus Range, 320 Spill Range.
Level 4 - 220 Bonus Range, 320 Spill Range.

Comment: Makes you hit beyond XD. Nice skill for farming and harassing.




Psionic Trap

Creates psionic traps on ground. When triggered, it will slow units within 400 range by 50%.

Level 1 - Max 5 Traps
Level 2 - Max 8 Traps
Level 3 - Max 11 Traps

Cooldown: 11/9/7
Mana Cost: 15

Comment: Lanaya’s Ultimate!! You expected more? Don’t be fool… This skill allows you to kill and assist killing/ganking very well. JUST SPAM IT AND RAPE EVERYONE.

Build Explanation: This skill build is based in cases where you are confortable with your enemies. Psi Blades allow you to nuke your lane facer with you fisical attacks on creeps and of course allow you to farm better since you have a longer range to keep you far from enemies hits. But the hot spot is the Meld, you can use the Double Meld (hide and wait cooldown to meld again immediately, when hit the enemy, so u can hit again) when waiting the lane pushback just make sure the target wont see you hiding. Is my favorite build.

The other builds are based in change priority; u can make the same build with Meld+ Psi Blades; Meld+ Refraction; Psi Blades + Refraction. All 3 are very powerful and each player uses it better depending of his playing style.


Item Build

That’s the interesting part. When Lanaya farm well, she can take over the team’s leadership to rush and defend almost alone. The way to counter a Strong Lanaya is combining Disables like guinsoo, silence, web, atropos ultimate, things like this.

Starting Itens:

5x Branches (56x5 = 280)
1x or 2x Tango (= 90/180) (can use Tango + Potion = 190)

With these items you get some extra Hit Points, Damage and Mana without spending too much. They are enough to farm and rush Ring of Health (875). OBS.: if you got lanaya at random mode, buy it immediately.

Early Game Purpose:

Well, vanguard is a underestimated item, but lanaya needs it and uses all vanguard’s benefits. Lanaya needs Hit Point, that’s a fact, and Vanguard gives 300 HP. U can argue that using 3 bracers u can get more Hit Points without spending too much, and also get some Damage, but Vanguard also gives you a nice regeneration, and the most important, the Block ability. Block is perfect for lanaya since she uses refraction and creeps hitting you make the protection vanish! So the block ability reduces the creeps damage to less then 5 (the trigger of Refraction only works for 5 or more damage) so you wont lose one Instance that can save your ass! Of course it won’t work ever, and various creeps will make it useless, but I consider it a core item for this awesome hero. Treads just complete the HP boosting, aspd needs, and you can turn it to Agi when stronger.

Well… Lanaya is a pure ownage DPSer, It needs no comment right? But just for advising, the desolator increase the armor reductions of meld and makes you rape them! Butter. boost very hard your aspd, damage, armor, and gives a glorious evasion (very usable like a avoiding damage skill to conserve refraction and even heroes attacks, resuming, gives you all you needs!)

Just for maxing aspd+damage and increase armor. You Can try other combinations but it’s a great damage equip set.
