Visage the Necro'lic

Story:
Quote:
A terrifying spirit created by uniting a thousand of souls of the warriors fell in the War of the Magi; Visage roams this world with never-ending thirst for souls. This restless ghost consumes the essence of the enemies he slays, and the death moan of his victims is what he enjoys the most. The weakening power of his wrath puts even the greatest warriors in misery, and the sight of sky filled with Visage and his undead minions is unimaginable. He is a nightmare in its worst, most sickening form, a true living horror, the Necro'lic.
Hero Introduction:
Quote:
Visage is an unusual hero. Although his primary stat is intelligence, he shares more in common with strength tank heroes and physical damage agility heroes than spellcasters. Grave Chill provides him a potent chasing ability and powerful slow in one skill. With Soul Assumption, Visage gains strength from hovering near dying creeps. The damage bonus and healing from this skill allow him to remain indefinitely in a lane, killing creeps and harassing with his high damage attack. Combining Grave Chill and Soul Assumption makes Visage a dangerous ranged fighter. Defensively, Gravekeeper's Cloak makes the Necro'lic very difficult to kill if he pumps up his hit points and regeneration, as it reduces all incoming damage and heals all nearby allies at the same time. Visage can also summon a swarm of Revenants, which serve as an additional damage source as well as an extremely effective scouting tool due to their flying movement type. Visage players often focus on the hero's toughness and healing ability, turning him into a hybrid intelligence tank with good physical attack capabilities.

First things First: What kind of guide is this?

-This guide is precise and concise. I will make my point and my build as straight as possible. This guide is not for newbies, since I will assume that you already played Necro'lic like two or three times. Before reading this, please be informed that I may have some typographical errors included since I am not a perfect being. Well here it goes, this guide of Visage I will make is as short as possible to avoid boring reading and sight seeing.

First 2 Minutes/Before Picking:

Before you pick Visage, let me remind you to let them pick first in LAN games or net games. Be very careful when to pick Visage and avoid choosing him when these heroes pop up on the screen:

why?
-They will kick your ass out of the game. Remember, even though Visage is made to somehow be tough and armor dependent, these heroes will be eventually your worst nightmares, and visage as their food.

Heroes Pros and Cons:

Pros:

[+] Great strength gain and armor which suits on being a tank/chaser
[+] Grave Chill is a great help
[+] tank/chaser type hero
[+] Early-Mid Gamer
[+] Good on backing up allies
[+] Very helpful and potent skills
[+] Not too item dependant
[+] May be your observer in the entire game

Cons:

[-] Even though good on early and mid games, he becomes fragile on Late games
[-] Very fragile for newbies
[-] Not good dealing with disablers
[-] MIght as well train your hands for fast clicking "familliars"
[-] Weak base and damage gain

THE EARLY GAME:

One Question: Why not level up gravekeeper's twice?

The idea is simple. Gravekeeper could easily escape in games by just putting chill on enemies and not rely on his armor. Why not max grave chill first? So before you ask, just think, am I ganking solo? LOL

Early Items:

or:

I choose the second build when I go down lane(with an ally)
I choose the first build when I go solo mid
Quote:
Laning with Visage:

SHOULD I AIM FOR SOLO?:

-If there are no disablers that will probably go in mid lane, why not? At early games you can be pretty proficient without your ally partner since you have some nice and decent skills to be dealt with

SHOULD I GO TO AN ALLY?:

-Yes, if you feel you are in danger. First things first, to kill; you need an ally help. But I suggest you start being "aggre" on levels 5 and above, roam around with your wards and fly like a virgin

ON WHAT LEVEL DO YOU THINK I CAN KILL?:

-Level 3(with an ally help)
-Level 5(with no ally help)

MY ALLIES ARE GETTING ALL THE KILLS AND XP, I THINK I SHOULD NEED TO SOLO:

-level 6, summon your familliars and you are ready to go.
Quote:
THE MIDDLE GAME:

When level 6 starts, you are entering the middle game

Middle game/core items:

the typical gank/escape kit. Observer wards should always be available when roaming to plant it on locations you think is needed.

TO KNOW IF YOU ARE PLAYING ON THE "GOOD SIDE" OF THE GAME:

-you are playing "Visage" if you got mekansm. Buy it first before any other handy items since it supports your allies and your familliars.

QUESTIONS TO BE ASKED ON MID GAME:

1.) Are they ganking a lot?

Yes: Hurry up and get mekansm and do not forget a tp scroll

NO: The same as above

2.) Do they spam their skills?

Yes: Get mekansm and ask allies for help

No: Continue with your life but buy a meka

3.) Am I getting harassed by invis?

Yes: The most suitable item: Necronomicon

No: Carry observer wards

4.) Am I getting ganked a lot?

Yes: Carry tp

No: Carry tp

5.) When do I know if the game is doomed?

-Simple, when you die 3-5 times on the first 12-15 minutes of the game
Quote:
LATE GAME:

If you destroyed at least 4 towers or higher, you are entering the late game

consider this your final set of items:

WHY TARRASQUE AND NOT ASSAULT(the usual item game):

-you do not need another hell of an armor, since you are already tough and thick skinned, as for the bonus attackspeed; good but not great since familliars can lose attack damage on 5 hits

OMG! SKADI! ITS VERY EXPENSIVE:

-I play visage; I don't have any trouble getting soaked with gold...

WHICH TO BUY FIRST?:

*treads
*meka
*orchid
*bloodstone
*tarrasque
*skadi

WHY?

-treads should always be first, if you ask why not phase boots, Visage can carry himself using grave chill. Why not bot? lol, you want your familliars to seek you after teleporting?

-mekansm is very handy on early up to late games, you also need regeneration

-orchid increases damage and attackspeed which comes in very handy on ganking and killing, silence also means "no escape" for your enemy

-bloodstone(WHY FOURTH?), you are thick, so do not worry. You buy this for extra toughness, regen and mana

-tarrasque is another toughness item; makes you indestructible

-skadi; the most expensive item in hell, should you go last for an extension
WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW?(TEAMPLAY)

step 1: cast grave chill on the enemy closest to you and the enemy whom you think is the beefiest

step 2: attack with familliars and yourself

step 3: cast assumption since it will be full in just a second

step 4: repeat step 2

step 5: chase, locate enemy

step 6: repeat step 1

step 7: when someone interfere.. use familliars for a stun

SITUATIONAL ITEMS:

-items that are to be talked about on why?, when? and how to use it on Visage

NECRONOMICON:

Always situational; Boosts on strength isn't a fail and some companies could also be very handy since grave chill provides a great combo with the necronomicon's summons

Why?: You need strength stats but you have low budget; then buy one of this. Mana burn isn't a waste since it is synergistic with Orchid.

When?: When disablers/invis or mana dependent heroes are harrasing you

URN OF SHADOWS:

-Urn of shadows doesn't fail a bat like Visage. Bonus strength and bonus mana regeneration is what the Hollow Bat is seeking. Urn of shadows can also be a substitute to your bloodstone(but I prefer bloodstone because I feel tougher)

Why?: Extra strength and 50% mana regeneration is good for early games especially when you gank a lot or thirst for a kill

When?: When they spam their skills at you like hell

STYGIAN DESOLATOR:

(note that I do not recommend this item for Visage, since skadi suits more of him than pure damage and -armor. However, due to some public demand I will make my thoughts about it)

-desolator is a pure type damage item which gives you -armor when hit. Great synergy with familliars and necronomicon

Why?: Extra damage and -armor; loved by summons

When?: If you think you need pure damage for gank and kill

PIPE OF INSIGHT

-I saw someone use this on lan games and he's toughness can be compared on the levels of centaur and pudge. This item is great if disablers and skill spammers like Lion is harrasing you, a little bit magic resistance does not hurt you wallet!

Why?: Extra regeneration and magic resistance equals extra toughness and extra courage

When?: Lion, Lina, Tinker, Rhasta and other disablers/spammers are in the game

Note: Situational Items are very handy, in fact can be substituted to the final set of items since it is affordable and is very useful on Visage however I still recommend the final set of items until the game extends.
THIS GUIDE IS TO BE UPDATED; SCREENSHOTS AND A LOT OF STRATEGIES ARE TO BE ADDED FOR THIS GUIDE.. SO WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT DAY AND I WILL SURELY FINISH THE GUIDE

Thats what I'm Talking About!(Replays)

WHY NOT PLAY VISAGE?

Click This:Why not play the new visage?

-This shows that the new visage is convenient. So do not try and say "Oh I hate the new remade visage! he is so weak!" maybe its your playing style(the noob playing style) that makes you hate visage.
