1.Introduction

Troll Warlord is my favorite hero in DotA, so I decided to do a guide for him ( I also noticed that Jah'rakal's guides are outdated ). I play DotA a few years ( Two/Three years, I guess ), so I have some notion about the game. About my English, it's pretty bad, but I hope you understand all the guide. Constructive criticism is welcome.

Jah'rakal is a pure carry. With his bash, he can take down enemy by enemy without them move ( Bash Lv. 4 deals 2s Stun! ). He also can support his allies with his Ultimate too and he has an awesome attack speed, that makes his bash more effective. BUT his manapool sucks... But who need mana when your Ultimate costs 75MP and your slow/blind skill costs 50MP?

I also consider Jah'rakal a Easy hero. So if you're new in DotA, you can pick him. But don't forget to use his skills!

2. Hero Information

When the Sentinel first gathered their forces, The Troll Warriors were considered primitive and unreliable. Their pride wounded, many refused to join, some even considering siding with the Scourge. Only a hotheaded young Warlord called Jah'rakal joined the Sentinel. Known as "Blinding Axe" in troll tongue, both for the blinding speed of his axes and his trademark blind technique, his unstoppable rampages have already made him a legend among his allies. However Jah'rakal fights not for the Sentinel, or even to defend the Ancients, but to show Elves, Men, Orcs and anyone else that trolls are the best fighters in the world.

The Troll Warlord is a pure fighter, able to attack from a distance or up close, where he becomes stronger overall and may also bash. He capitalizes on attack speed, being able to strike and move quickly, as well as enhance his allies to sometimes do the same. Jah'rakal can also Blind his opponents, making it difficult for them to land attacks. Additionally, successive attacks landed on a target enable greater focus for Jah'rakal, greatly increasing his attack speed. If he is able to acquire items and momentum soon enough, there aren't many fighters who can best him.

3. Skills

• Berserker Rage

Notes/Tips:

• When you change to melee mode, the Movement Speed of Jah'rakal increases by 20 ( Increases by 30 on Level 4 ). So if an enemy is running away from you, change to Melee Mode, to get more Movement Speed.


• When you change to melee mode, you get more damage ( Increases by 15 ).


• When you change to melee mode, it reduces your Base Attack Time to 1.55 ( So you can attack faster )


• When you change to melee mode, you gain more HP ( Increases by 100 ). So if the enemy is chasing you, and you have Low life, change to the Melee Mode, so you can get more Movement Speed and more HP too!


• When you change to melee mode, you gain the Bash ability ( See more in the "Bash" Tab ).


• When you change to range mode, you lose all those buffs and Bash ability.

As you can see, Melee Mode is the best mode to run away with Low HP. Range Mode is good too! But only in the early game. When you max this skill, DON'T use range, always use melee, for the infinities bashes. Ok, you can use the Range Mode sometimes, when the enemy hero is with a very low HP and it's MS is higher than yours. Another thing is... ALWAYS jungle in Melee Mode. If you jungle in the Range Mode, you will not have the bash and all those buffs that Melee gives ( This tip also serves to Roshan ).

Notes/Tips:

• Damage Type is Magical.


• The stun goes through magic immunity.


• Does not stack with Cranium Basher ( So don't do it ¬¬ ).
  

Our passive skill killer! With this skill, you can kill enemy by enemy without them move! Awesome, huh? But try to don't do this in the Early Game. Why? Your HP is low, so if you go against a range he'll kill you, your attack is low, and the Berserker Rage is not Maximized ( So the bash will stun for 1sec ). In Mid Game, bash helps a lot to gank. But don't rush in the enemy team without yours. Remember that Troll kill one by one. Rush = Death. In the late, with your items, no one will stop you. So enjoy your Rampages before the game ends.

Notes/Tips:

• The two abilities are independent: you can cast one, transform into your other form, and cast the second ability immediately.
  
  

This skill,in fact,are two skills. So you, who never played with Jah'rakal asks... "How can I use these two skills?" Simple! Just switch the Range/Melee modes in the Berserk Rage Skill! And the better, they are independent! And you asks... "So...?" And I answer "You can cast the Whirling Axes in Melee Mode and immediately cast the Whirling Axes in Range Mode (Without wait the cooldown from the Whirling Axes (Melee). Understood? But Whirling Axes (Melee) is completely different from Whiriling Axes (Range). Check below!

This is our First Blood Skill."Why?" Because it is a long-range skill, causes slow and damage! So, if your lane-partener harass the enemy a lot, you can support him with this, and you can make the first blood in the match. Yeah! Look the AoE of the Skill:

Whiriling Axe (Melee)

Notes/Tips:

• Damage Type: Magical
  

Unlike the WA (Range), this one should be cast in mid/late game in Team Clashes. This skill makes the enemies around Jah'rakal blind. It's perfect to kill tanks ( Blind and stun them! ).

Notes/Tips:

• If Jah'rakal changes targets, his rage counter drops to zero. So try to focus in one target only.
  

"I'll make AS Items to Troll for his Bash happen more often!!!!" No, you don't! This skill give him awesome AS! So don't spend your precious gold in Orchid Malevolence,Lothar's Edge,Quarterstaff, etc... ( You should spend on Items that don't give WHAT YOUR PASSIVE SKILL GIVES ).

Notes/Tips:

• If Jah'rakal Ults, it will not affect illusions from your team.
  

Oh yes! His ultimate gives MORE ATTACK SPEED! So when you Ult, it's like BASH BASH BASH BASH BASH BASH! Until it ends :[ . The Ult also support your team, if you're far away from the "battlefield". And this Ult. is good for take down High Level Neutrals ( And Roshan too ).

4. Skill Build

Now that we know what are the effects of skills, let's make a build. REMEMBER! THIS IS A TROLL JUNGLE GUIDE, so the build is for jungle too. If you don't like to jungle, I recommend to you follow another guide. But keep in mind that Troll is a jungler, not a lanner.

Explanation:
Whirling Axes is our First Blood skill. Get it in Level 1 to: Slow and make damage ( At a Long Range ) at your enemies and try to make the first blood. BUT don't suicide trying it. Berserker Rage gives you Movement Speed to run away from enemies ( While in Melee Mode ), and we need to maximize it for Jungle better. Get Fervor at Lv. 4 because you can't Up Berserker Rage at Lv. 4. After Max. the Berserker Rage, Max. Fever for more AS. Then, max. the Whirling Axes, because they're better than 2 stats in all your Attributes. And the Ult, is a "Must Get" on the Level.

5. Strategy!

Which lane should I choose?

If you're in Scourge, choose Top.
If you're in Sentinel, choose Bot.
NEVER MID!

As a Jungler, you should know to don't go Mid, never. I mean, to jungle with a Troll, you need: "Level 6 and Mask of Death" only this. So, you'll solo until get Level 6 and enough gold to buy the Mask of Death and start jungle. If your mates refuse to go mid, so your game is over ( You will need to stay there or the enemy will destroy the towers ). Pick those lanes because Scourge Jungle is located in the Top and the Sentinel Jungle is located in the Bot. So you can jungle and support your lane partner as well.

~ Early Game ( 0 ~ 10 )

Choose Troll and the lane where is the Jungle of your team. Start with these items:

Ancient Tango of Essifation: This will keep you healed. Eat a Tree when you have a half of your total HP to stay alive in the lane. As a Range Hero, you don't need a Healing Salve, because you will not take much damage ( But do not be aggressive, only if you have the control of your lane ), but if the enemy makes some trap, you have 3 charge to heal yourself. If you have less then 100 HP, it's better to go to the base.
Slippers of Agility: Damage and armor. You'll need to get those two, to make an Poor Man's Shield. But you'll not have much money to complete it in your base, so complete in the Side Lane Shop ( Buying a Stout Shield from Goblin Laboratory ).

Go to your lane before the creeps spawn and stay there. Try to block their way ( It's an old strategy ) to the enemy creeps in your tower. Don't harass your enemy ( Only if you get control of your lane, try to get the First Blood too! ) and try to Last Hit creeps as much as you can. Last Hitting 2 Creeps, you'll have enough gold to buy a Stout Shield from the Goblin Laboratory, so you can have a Poor Man's Shield.

Poor Man's Shield: This shield will keep you protected until you got the Mask of Death. It also gives a little damage/armor.

Now you should Last Hit creeps until you have enough gold ( 900 ) to buy the Mask of Death. Be careful to don't die and lose 200 gold! If is hard to survive, you can take a little help from the runes on the river ( Like Double Damage or Invisible ). When you reach 900 gold go to the Goblin Laboratory and Buy it.

Mask of Death: Gives 15% of Lifesteal, what is good for jungle ( You don't need your tangos anymore ), because Troll has an awesome IS, and Mask of Death gives you 15% of HP from every attack.

Now all you need to do is reach Lv. 6, get the ult and kick the Neutral's ass. While in the jungle, you may encounter an Neutral called "Ogre Magi". DON'T KILL HIM! Leave him for later ( We'll domesticate him ). Jungle until you have 950 Gold. When you reach it, go to Goblin Laboratory and buy a Helm of Iron Will and you'll obtain a HotD.

Helm of the Dominator: Gives 15% of Lifesteal like the Mask of Death and gives the Dominate Skill. "Why we bought it?" - To dominate neutral monsters! DUh'

Go back to the jungle and go Level Up. As I said, you have the chance to find an Ogre Magi accompanied by two Ogre Maulers. If you find, kill the Ogre Maulers but don't hurt Ogre Magi. Domesticate him!

Ogre Magi: We domesticate him because his skill ( He has a shield like Lich - Frost Armor ). You must be wondering... "And so..?". With this skill you can solo Roshan in Lv. 9!

~ Killing Roshan ( Around ~ 10 )

Go back to the jungle and Level Up to Lv. 9. After this, go to Roshan. Before you start to attack him, use Ogre Magi to put the Frost Armor on your Troll. Get prepared and start to attack.

Solo Roshan in this level may be a little difficult ( Because you aren't Ursa xD ). He can stun and decrease your HP quickly. So take some rest with you need. I recommend to you call a partner to help you, or leave Ogre Magi tank sometimes. Now we have Aegis + 200 gold + Level in 10 minutes of game!

~ Mid Game ( 11 ~ 40 )

Now you can domesticate a few interesting neutral creeps. I made a table about them:

- He got Toughness Aura Lv. 3 ( Increases 3 points of Armor to him and all Ally units )
- He got "Tornado", that allows him to summon a Tornado, and all enemy units that hit him will have the movement speed decreased.

- Great Movement Speed

Reasons to dominate him:

- He got Thunder Clap that deals 150 damage to nearby enemy units and slow their movement and attack speed by 25% for 3 seconds.
- Huge HP
- Great Movement Speed

Reasons to dominate him:

- He got War Stomp that deals 25 damage to nearby enemy units and stun them for 2 seconds.
- He also got Endurance Aura that Increases nearby friendly units attack rate by 15%
- Huge HP
- Great Movement/Attack Speed

Reasons to dominate him:

- He got Esnare that traps an enemy from 1.5 seconds
- He also got an "Necromic Skill", the Raise Dead, that summons 2 Skeletons from corpeses.
- Range Creep
- Huge HP
- Great MP
- Great Movement/Attack Speed

Hp: 1100

Damage: 49-55
Damage Type: Chaos

Reasons to dominate him:

- He got Shockwave ( Like Mag ). It deals 125 damage.
- He also got an Unholy Aura, an amazing aura that gives a HP Regen by 3hp/sec
- Huge HP
- Great Movement/Attack Speed

In Mid Game, don't stop jungling. The only thing is you need to participate from the Team battles. Even if you're far from your allies, you can Ult to support them. Now, you just need a Boot. But which one? Phase Boots. Get it and I'll explain why.

Phase Boots: Damage and Phase ( DON'T LET THEM ESCAPE YOUR BASH ). "But... Power Treads is better dude!". Maybe, Power Tread gives only 8 Damage ( If you are in Agility Mode ), while Phase Boots give you 24 and Phase Skill . We also will get BTF so don't worry about your AS.

Now, jungle a little more ( Now you can Jungle in Ancients ) and get BKB.

Black King Bar: This will keep you safe against Disablers ( They are a great problem to Troll ). It also gives you HP and damage.

"IT'S YASHA TIME!" - No it isn't. I don't agree when people say "Troll needs a Yasha!"... You already have Phase from Phase Boots so why more movement speed? Wanna be an Usain Bolt? This is not necessary, also, Troll don't need to run a lot because his bash. Yasha gives Agility! COOL! 16? Got hell. Attack Speed? Leave it for BTF ( Butterfly ).

Are you in the jungle? WHAT THE HELL YOU'RE DOING THERE? MOVE YOUR ASS TO THE BATTLEFIELD AND DESTROY THEIR TOWERS! IT'S TIME TO MAKE SOME BLOOD IN THE GROUND ( Not yours lol ).

This item is not so necessary but If you're having problems to kill them, get it. What I'm talking about is Lothar.

Lothar's Edge ( OPTIONAL ): Yeah! Get it and you'll be a ghost with awesome bash and attack speed. It also gives you more damage. Use the Wind Walk to do planned attacks on the enemy. Feel like a Rikimaru, but your Wind Walk is not infinite so don't do shit!

Wanna more Damage? "YES DUDE"! SO GET THAT THING THAT WE CALL "BURIZA"!

Buriza-Do Kyanon: This item gives you an awesome damage and Critical Strike! Now, you can deal 2.5x your normal attack. Pwn them with this.

~ Late Game ( 41 ~ End )

Now, Neutral Creeps are not sooooo good. So improve your HotD to the Satanic to more Lifesteal.

Satanic: Now you have more Lifesteal, Unholy Rage ( Active Skill! ), More armor, More damage, More HP! Remember to use Unholy Rage when you're low HP and hitting/bashing an enemy. You'll get 175% Lifesteal for 3 seconds.

Now, just kill them. Wait... are you still playing? HOW? But we have a solution! Get Buttefly and kick their ass.

Butterfly: This gives you an awesome damage, agility, evasion and Attack Speed. Be happy and kill them.

6.Item Discuss

I said only about the good items for Troll. Now I'll talk about all items in DotA and comment about them.

These items are good too! But they're expensive. Ask someone to buy it ( To get the Aura of Assault Cuirass/Shiva's Aura ) because you just need to spend in things to you, not for others ( HOW SELFISH! ). Tarrasque is not a option for Troll. You already have the Bash ( To stun the enemy ) and BKB to avoid the disables. So, why more HP? Invest on Lifesteal...

Regen? Do you know that HotD has lifesteal? About Bloodstone/Soul Booster, it gives Mana/HP Regen, but for what? That shit is so expensive that you can't even finish our build. Sphere is another thing that you need to have much money to buy. But it's a shit for Troll. So you asks: "BUT WHAT ABOUT THE SPELL BLOCK?" -- OMFG WHY DID YOU BUY BKB SO?
