[+] Spectre is a global ganker. With Haunt, you can be sure that you will catch that enemy and finish him off. Maphack, in short
[+] Spectral Dagger allows you to walk through terrains and escape from enemy easily. Coupled with Dispersion, your early game might not be that bad.
[+] Although disagreed by some, Spectre DOES have the ability to wipe out the whole entire team, with little to no help from allies.
[+] Your mid-game will be better than most of the hard carries due to your skills
AND MUCH MORE
Cons:
[-] AFK Farming for at least 30 minutes
[-] You must have map awareness. Because Haunt requires you to have basic map-awareness to hunt that dying asshole down.
[-] Like all hard carries, early game will not be fun for you. But that's okay, considering you can own mid-late game. Endurance is the key to success!
[-] Good last hits. No, I don't care if your last hits are decent. Good last hits is the key to getting a good late-game. Because even with Quelling Blade, base damage isn't that high.

Spectral Dagger
"The Spectre launches a deadly dagger that trails a Shadow Path. Deals damage to the targets in its path. Units hit by the dagger will also trail a Shadow Path. The Spectre becomes phased (gains zero collision) while on the path."
Level 1: Spectre gains 5% movespeed, enemies lose 5%. Deals 50 damage(130 Mana).
Level 2: Spectre gains 9% movespeed, enemies lose 9%. Deals 100 damage(140 Mana).
Level 3: Spectre gains 14% movespeed, enemies lose 14%. Deals 150 damage(150 Mana)
Level 4: Spectre gains 18% movespeed, enemies lose 18%. Deals 200 damage
Notes(160 Mana)
•Cooldown: 16 seconds
•Range: 2000
•AoE: 125
•Duration: 12 seconds.
• Damage type: magical
• Buff lasts for 4 seconds after Mercurial leaves shadow path.
• Debuff lasts for 7 seconds after enemy leaves shadow path.
• Slows but does not damage magic immune units.
• The dagger moves at a speed of 857.14 units per second.
• Vision is granted of shadow path when Spectral dagger is cast.
This is the only nuke Spectre has. And for the same reason, Spectre cannot go laning without a babysitter. She will be horribly outlaned(unless you're opponent is a noob) and I highly doubt she will get any farm at all. It has a very long range of 2000 and this will be your escaping tool as well as chasing tool. It scales well into late game(not the damage though) as it allows Spectre to walk through terrains and increase movement speed by a very significant amount. Early game, you use this to escape and get kills. Same goes for mid-game. Can't say the same for late-game though because it's only 200 damage when at Level 4.

Desolate
"Deals bonus damage that cuts through armor when attacking a hero that has no nearby allied units. Works on Illusions."
Level 1: 20 Bonus Damage
Level 2: 30 Bonus Damage
Level 3: 40 Bonus Damage
Level 4: 50 Bonus Damage
• Damage type: Pure
• Damage is dealt before Spectre's actual attack.
• Works only if attacked enemy has no allies in 325 range.
• Your illusions also have the Desolate skill.
• Passive skill
Your imba skill. The reason why Spectre is so good at killing shit. This thing is practically a Sacred Relic. 50 bonus damage and because it deals pure damage, it is not reduced by armour. Fuck! This is horrifyingly awesome! So basically, you shoot your dagger, run to your victim. Your victim either run(get away from you but also leaves his allies) and activates Desolate thus killing him faster, or he stays and get killed by you and your allies. But this skill only work when the attacked enemy is not near any of his allies. Even creeps is counted as allies D: (fucked up logic here). But nonetheless, it's still awesome.

1. HERO's Story
Mercurial is able to Desolate opponents for pure damage if she catches them alone, and Disperses damage intake, reflecting it in the area around her. She can hurl a Spectral Dagger at opponents, which will slow and damage enemies, as well as allow Spectre to pass through material objects and travel across any terrain. She should be feared as a constant presence, being able to Haunt images of herself upon all enemy heroes from any distance, and even reform her actual self into any one of those images to physically enter a fight.
2. HERO'S IntroductionMercurial, the Spectre is a hard carry. In the current metagame, she is extremely powerful as she has the pushing power(somewhat via Spectral Dagger and fast attacking speed after items) and has the ability to wipe the whole team. Her AoE presence is very threatening. With Radiance and Dispersion, you can be sure that she will not be killed easily but yet, killing them will be an easy task for you. Killing the enemy is not your main priority. Your mission is to strike fear in your opponents. Make them be afraid of you, then wipe them out one by one. They will never go alone, because being alone, has never been that frightening.
