Lion is a very versatile hero that has been used in European competitive play for almost a year now and more than that in Asia. His disables make him a great babysitter, but he can also be used as a ganger that takes a bit of farm in lane or even as an early-mid game carry, soloing middle. Impale is Lion's bread and butter ability. While it may seem simple enough to just point-click it, better players will try to get more people in the AoE. Sometimes it is worth waiting a bit in order to get more people in your stun. When trying to hit multiple enemies, clicking on the ground is the best option. In this replay ToFu plays a solo mid Lion against DDT. Note especially the great Impale usage.
