Why choose Necrolyte?

This Is My First Guide So Mercy Me

First of all, Necrolyte is a very good support hero. He is also a very easy hero to use with an aoe skill that hurts and heal and a very, very dangerous ulti. He's also dangerous to hang out with(Heartstopper Aura) and can turn the table in a battle. And he's got a beard, which means he's smart. Isn't that a good enough Reason to play him?

You can find out about his stats here.

Pros and Cons
Pros
[+]Has a pretty good nuke
[+]Has an insane ultimate that stays strong in late game
[+]Has near unlimited mana and damages over time
[+]Has good int and str growth
[+]Great support abilities
[+]Has a great beard that attract lina and alleria :P

Cons
[-]Item-dependant
[-]Low agi growth
[-]Roles only limited to support and babysitter
[-]Food in late game
[-]He's dead, swt..

II. Skillset

Death Pulse[D](Active)

The Necrolyte releases a wave of death from the core of his being, dealing damage to enemies and healing allies.

Level 1 : 75 damage, 50 heal. (400 AoE, 125MP)
Level 2 : 125 damage, 75 heal. (450 AoE, 145MP)
Level 3 : 200 damage, 100 heal. (475 AoE, 165MP)
Level 4 : 275 damage, 130 heal. (500 AoE, 185MP)

This is what makes you that annoying healer. Although technically people might think the heal is useless(130 after maxed??), It can be a lifesaver to some and later can be spammed. You can't evade it unless you're magic immune(remember~!!) Sadly, the Aoe is pretty small so you really have to walk up to the guy to hurt him, sucks right?

Heartstopper Aura(Passive)

The deathly air stills the hearts of his opponents, causing them to lose a percentage of their max health over time.

Level 1 : 0.4% HP of opponent drained per second. (1000 AoE)
Level 2 : 0.6% HP of opponent drained per second. (1000 AoE)
Level 3 : 0.8% HP of opponent drained per second. (1000 AoE)
Level 4 : 1.0% HP of opponent drained per second. (1000 AoE)

This is your semi-annoying skill that makes people run away from you and make you cool with that green stuff effect. This skill doesn't do much but it's worth adding because even though it's little damage, it's still damage. And with 1000 Aoe, your enemies will be forced to deal with it.

Sadist(Passive)

Reveling in death and pain, the Necrolyte regains mana for killing units.

Level 1 : Regains 12 mana per unit.
Level 2 : Regains 24 mana per unit.
Level 3 : Regains 36 mana per unit.
Level 4 : Regains 48 mana per unit.

OMFG, Heal and damage, Aoe per second damage and now near-unlimited mana? This is useful for spamming your nice little skills. Although some prefer this in early game I still think that around end game you should max it because it'll only be useful then. But if you're good at last-hiting then max this over Heartstopper Aura. And it works on denies.

Reaper's Scythe[R](Active)

Brings a target to full realization of its own mortality, dealing damage based on how much life the target is missing. Stuns for 1.5 seconds.

Level 1 : Deals 0.4 (0.6*) damage per HP missing + stun 1.5 second.
Level 2 : Deals 0.6 (0.9*) damage per HP missing + stun 1.5 second.
Level 3 : Deals 0.9 (1.2*) damage per HP missing + stun 1.5 second.

Your indestructible skill that scares everyone to death(seriously). The lower the life of your enemy, the better. This is usually followed up by a Death Pulse after of course, some decent harassing to ensure the kill. It also has a 1.5sec stun that makes this skill all the more annoying. Care to know that magic immmunes are immune to the damage but still affected by the stun. Also show's Aghnaim's improvement(*).

III. Skill Build

Level 1 - Death Pulse
Level 2 - Heartstopper Aura/Sadist
Level 3 - Death Pulse
Level 4 - Heartstopper Aura/Sadist
Level 5 - Death Pulse
Level 6 - Reaper's Scythe
Level 7 - Death Pulse
Level 8 - Heartstopper Aura/Sadist
Level 9 - Heartstopper Aura/Sadist
Level 10 - Heartstopper Aura/Sadist
Level 11 - Reaper's Scythe
Level 12 - Heartstopper Aura/Sadist
Level 13 - Heartstopper Aura/Sadist
Level 14 - Heartstopper Aura/Sadist
Level 15 - Attributes
Level 16 - Reaper's Scythe
Level 17~25 - Attributes

Max Death Pulse as fast as you can for it's your main skill. I always put options whether to add Heartstopper Aura or Sadist because I've seen what Heartstopper Aura can do and it's not as useless as you think. Think about it, people will be forced to stay in the 1000 Aoe and they'll slowly lose life, whihc can be very dangerous. Although, if you're a Godlike last-hitter and deny king then go with Sadist, it suits you. Ulti is taken for obvious reasons, pro shit? Attributes last because you need everything.

IV. Items

Start Of Game(5v5)

or

Circlet taken for survivalbility, can later be turned into Bracers(optional). Personally I would choose wards over the normal tangos and clarities because Necrolyte DOES NOT HAVE AN ESCAPE MECHANISM and dying early game to an axe surprise attack can be really annoying. You can also look out for runes. Isn't that great?

Early Game

or

or

We get boots for the added ms. You can either turn your circlets into bracers if you're having a hard time farming. But if you're already fat with gold, go straight for your perseverance, therefore speeding up your bloodstone production which is your most important item. You can also rush aghnaim if you feel that bloodstone is not a big priority and you have an easy time farming and spamming your spells without perseverance.

Mid Game

or

Bloodstone is your primary objective, so complete it UNLESS you're rushing your aghnaim. In that case, finished that scepter and head back to bloodstone, the boosts it gives is too much to skip. If you're bloodstone-ing, you can either go for an aghnaim which improves your ulti to a death spell(and good boosts to your stats) that is a major help in mid-late game or you can support you allies and get a shiva, which is useful in team battles and clearing up creeps in seconds.

Late Game

or

Get Boots of Travel if you still haven't, note : I'm not saying you should buy them late game, you can get them around mid game to so you can be a drugged pusher. From this point, you can either choose shiva(if you chose aghnaim) or aghnaim(if you chose shiva) to maximize your pushing ability or ulti. Orchid is also an option to silence those annoying casters. Guinsoo is your last to hex those guys who farm so hardcore to finish him off.

Optional Items

Dagon is a really nice item to have on as it works very good with your spells(will be explained). The burst damage it provides help you to be a ganker early-mid. If you're having a hard time early game and can't afford an aghnaim, dagon is your fallback as it can be upgraded so that it's usefulness will maintain even until late game.

(Replaced by aghnaim)

Radiance is an OK item on necrolyte. Although me myself don't recommend it, it does give a major farming ability. You can replace this with shiva I guess. Plus, having twinkle stars on you makes you chick magnet.

(Replace by Shiva/Dagon/Aghnaim)

Mekanasm makes you a drugged supporter which is a pretty good thing. Don't disagree with me just yet, try it out. You'll be amazed at how much you can help out your team. Of course, you have to be at every gank to maximize your supporting potential. Don't waste by walking alone.

(Replaced with Bloodstone)

V. Early Game Strategy
Soloing

Buy your items and head out mid lane. Put you wards at vantage points if you have any. Remember to block your creeps and use that ramp to make your enemies miss and giving you some pretty good advantage. If your enemy's melee, harass him!! When he gets too close, spam your Death Pulse(DP). If he's range, Use the ram trick and farm hard. Don't let him push you around. Unless you're laning with nevermore or any other strong dicks, farm defensively.

Dual Lane

In this case, buy your items and ward those ganking spots(forest/secret shop) and rune spot. Babysit your ally and when you're ready, initiate a gank. Make sure you have the necessary things to gank. Stun/slow or disables. Nukes are good too. You'll be having an easy early game if you play your cards right.

VI. Mid Game Strategy

At this point, you should stop soloing and lane with someone. Don't waste off your supporting abilities. Hurry your bloodstone and your items afterwards. You'll be a HUGE threat if you have a dagon or a drugged supporter. At this point you should laugh "Muahahahaha~!!!"

VII. Late Game Strategy

You're starting to lose your awesomeness. The most you can do is hex(guinsoo), freeze(shiva), silence(orchid) and spam your skills before you die. Hurry the game before you fall apart. You'll have a nice game and you can laugh and call the leavers who had enough NOOBS~!!

VIII. Strategy Section
The Necrolyte Combo(without dagon)
Step 1 : Make sure you have enough mana to spam your skills and the necessary support(stun/disables)

Step 2 : Get your fingers ready and hide or run forward

Step 3 : Ask your ally to stun/disable and shoot your Death Pulse

Step 4 : Shoot your ulti to maximize your 1.5 sec stun for your ally to cd his skill or have extra hits

Step 5 : Chase if you haven't finish him off and watch the numbers shoot up when he's dead.

The Necrolyte Combo(with Dagon)
Step 1 : Make sure you have enough mana and support(you don't need support if you're sure you can nuke your enemy dead)

Step 2 : Get your fingers ready and hide or run forward or bait them(be careful when you bait)

Step 3 : Ask your ally to stun/disable and spam your Death Pulse followed with your dagon

Step 4 : Ulti him and kill him

Extra Tips

1. Always aim with precision and speed, train if you have to.

2. Don't always flee when you're low on health, last hit as quickly as possible to spam your Death Pulse to push faster and heal better

3. If you have a hex/freeze/silence, try to use them before your necrolyte combo because hexing enables you to nuke your enemy easier/ freezing slows your opponent making them easy bait/ silence destroys your enemy's chances to counter-nuke you.

4. Don't be bossy and listen to your teammates, YOU ARE A SUPPORT HERO SO ACT LIKE ONE.

5. Pass those important runes to someone who needs it more. The only runes you should get is regen, clone and haste. DD and invi should be given to gankers. But if you need to be a rune whore, BE A RUNE WHORE.

IX. Allies and Worst Enemies
Allies

Basically, nukers and stunners are going to make you one tough guy. Lina, combine your skills and everyone will be at your mercy. Same as Atropos. Nevermore just spams his skills and your ulti will be a sure kill. Fun eh?

Worst Enemies

Silencers are your worst enemies. No skills, no power. Bloodseeker is most dangerous as his skill not only silence you but damage you over time. Mana burners like Magina and NA are also a pain in the ass. Luckily you got Sadist to back you up. Pudge is just an ass cause' I hate him :P
