Xin the Ember Spirit



In sword forging furnaces of war, something powerful was taking shape. In a desperate bid to make superior weapons a sword smith by the name of Xin captured and bound a fire spirit to his forge. After countless hours of toil, a single pair of swords were born of the enchanted furnace. While holding and admiring the mystical blades the fire spirit was able to pass into Xin's body creating a being born of flesh and flame. Xin became more powerful than the soldiers he was tasked to outfit, and march out himself to dispatch the enemies of warmth and life. Equipped with burning steel and blazing speed, Xin tears through his enemies leaving nothing but a cinder.

Meet the fire power

Searing Chains
Xin unleashes up to 3 fiery bolas that wrap around nearby enemies, anchoring them in place and dealing damage each second.

Skill usage:
Skill mostly effect closes units.
When you gank enemy hero try to get him alone, or with minimal 2 other enemy units, so you can be sure that it will catch him.
Very good spell for ganks, when you chasing someone, etc.
If enemy hero have teleport in invetory, try to save it becouse this spell cancel channeling spells.

Sleight of Fist[T]
Xin dashes around with blazing speed, attacking all enemies in the targeted AoE and returns to where he was standing after. Deals bonus damage to heroes, and 50% less damage to creeps.

Skill usage:
Becouse of physical damage this skill is very powerful.
Its based on Ember's damage. In early game can be used for harashing. Also like a finisher becouse it damage and magical immune units.
Becouse its area of effect is increased by each level of spell at last level it have 550 area of effect. Cast range is 700. That mean you can hit enemy on range of 1250 if propert used.
In late game its basicly Xin's main damaging spell.

Flame Guard[E]
Xin surrounds himself with a ring of fire that consumes incoming magic damage, leaving him unharmed. Deals dps in a 400 aoe. If the shield is dispelled, the dps buff goes away.more info
Skill usage:
One of Xin's powerful abilities. Its basicly magical shield that dps nearly enemies.
This shield - Flame Guard - can save your life if enemies gonna gank you for first blood. But also you can use it to make first blood, it deal 30 dps, for 8 seconds, wich is totaly 240 damage.
At last level it deal 45 damage per second wich is stronger than radoance. and block 550 magical damage.
With it he is kinda magical immune.
You shall use it every time when you gank, or when they ganking you. It can kill but it also can save life.
Awesome skill, is early game you can easly go in fight against some physical damage dealers becouse with Flame Guard and you attacks, you will deal more damage than enemy, and also he won't be able to damage you with spell.

Fire Remnant[F]
Xin charges himself with the energy to create a Fire Remnant every 30 seconds, with a max of 3 charges. Releasing a charge sends a Fire Remnant that runs to the targeted point at 2.5X your speed. Xin can use his secondary ability to dash out to each remnant's location, detonating them for AoE damage, and arriving at the one he targeted last.
Fire Remnant[R]sub-skill

Target the Fire Remnant to arrive at. You dash through all other Fire Remnants, and end up at the one you targeted, exploding them for AoE damage.more info
Skill usage:
This skill makes Ember interesanthing to play. I don't say that other skills are not, but this one specific.
In early game you shall use sub skill when you "shot" out all remanants, becouse of low mana pool, and high mana cost for sub skill.
In mid game , things are different, you have more mana, but your enemies are harded to catch. If you are sure that you will kill them then fast "shot out" all remanants, and cast all other spells... But that's really hard to do, they will survive, and run away. You shall use only 2 remanants + other spells. And use 3rd remanants when enemy start running away from you and your first skill (searing chains) is ready.
Late game, with alot mana, you could spread your ult on 3 remanants with different of 8 seconds, so you can cast Searing Chainsyour first skill each time you cast ult.
Fire Remanants could also be used as escape mechansm.
Or like a free teleport, combinated with Scroll of Town Portal. Leave Fire Remanant where you want to teleport, use "Scroll of Town Portal" port to fountain, regenerate your HP, buy if you need something, and port back using Fire Remanant.

Level 4: Flame Guard(enough block for this level)

Level 5: Sleight of Fist

Level 6: Fire Remainant(take every time you can)

Level 7: Sleight of Fist(very powerful in early game)

Level 8: Sleight of Fist(maxed)

Level 9: Flame Guard(level 3 - level 2 is too weak for this level)

Level 10: Searing Chains

Level 11: Fire Remainant (take every time you can)

Level 12: Searing Chains (its 3 seconds right now)

Level 13: Searing Chains (maxed)

Level 14: Flame Guard (maxed)

Level 15: Stats

Level 16: Fire Remainant(maxed)

This is just how i suggest, and how i play.
You can play how you want.




Item Build


I usual start like this:



total cost: 549
2 Slipers of Agility help you with last hit, and can be upgraded to poor's man shield, some basic regen, and three GG branches to be build into magic stick on the lane.

If you feel like you are going to be harassed in lane:

Stout Shield to minimize harassment on the lane, some basic regen, and three GG branches to be build into magic stick on the lane.

Sometimes it happen to me that no one buy courier,

Extension:





Magic Wand - instant regen is never wrong, it can be life saver, and one of mana solver

Poor Man's Shield - Damage block is that little what help you in early game against physical dealers.

Scroll of Town Portal - Allow him to move quickly around map, to gank alot and also can regenerate as i stated in skill explanation for his ult.

Soul Ring - Like a mini-perseverance but you can also activate it to trade life for mana. Although it makes a fragile ganker even more soft, it allows you to Guarantee you can cast flame guard, searing chains or sub-skill fire remainant.

Posible replacements for soul rings are also:


Mana renge, 6 damage, and armor... good.


Posible, that Valor effect is awesome.


Mana regen isn't something like his hp regen from charges. Very good becouse of alot of ganks. And bonus str promise extra HP.


Bottle???

This is very good item for Ember if you are going mid... you will need it for runes, and all ganks.
You can take this as replacement for Magic Wand or Soul Ring.

Boots
For boots i always take and suggest Phase boots.

This boots are awesome on Ember, becouse your Searing Chains request from you to be close.
Also Flame Guard, will probably pull evil creeps that gonna try to block you while chasing your enemy.
Otherwise you bonus damage is never wrong and it would be really useful for you in later game.

What about other boots??
Power treads: give you same speed like Phase boots, but don't have active movement speed bonus. Ember don't need attack speed, he is nuker, and he need higher damage as he can state it between 2 casts of Sleight of Fist.
Only good thing about this boots are bonus stats, better say changable bonus stats. You can pick what you need in moment (in early game int, when chased str, late game agi/str)

Arcan boots: 65 movement speed is nice, 250 mana, and recover 110 mana every 45 seconds, man that's awesome for Ember spirit, but they are useless in lategame.

Tranquil boots: 80 ms and regen is nice, but NO DON'T TAKE THIS!!
enemy hit you 3 times and you are slowed down for 10 SECONDS!!!


Boots of Travel: This is one of the luxary items for Xin. 100 ms and free teleport? AWESOME. that mean you can always port home, regenerate, and back with ult.
Buy this if you don't know what to do with gold.

Orb:

My favorite orb on Ember spirit is DESOLATOR:
This item is so awesome on Xin. Combinated with Sleight of Fist, Ember reduce armor to all afected enemies. And also awesome 60 damage, that's never wrong. Slegiht of Fist cooldown: 6 seconds. Desolator buff duration: 6 seconds.

Also this is common item that you can see on eber, maelstorm (later mjolnir):
This item is good if you want to deal damage to their team, 120 damage on 4 targets, witch chance of 25%. But as Mijolnir it deal 160 damage.
Attack speed bonus. Not so bad but i suggest DESOLATOR.

Eye of Skadi, 1 uncommon item for Ember Spirit:

Slow is extra against fast enemies like, bara/bala....
and 25 to all stats is awesome becouse of constant casts.

Situational items:

This is also LUXARY item, but i will put it in situation items, becouse he don't need it in all games, Only if you feel that you die too easy in team fights - take it.


Can be really useful in teamfight, and give you extra armor for extra survivability


If you need extra burst damage.


If enemies focus you too much, this item may be solution for it.


May be really useful for Ember.


Take this item if you want more regen and to deal more aoe damage. It is good combinated with Maelstorm.


If enemies have alot AoE spells, this will be better oppinion than sphere.


Luxary items:

Awesome item for all agility heroes. 30% dodge help alot against physical dealers.
Maybe even better fits than butterfly to Ember Spirit. Eternal form can save your from physical attacks.
Very good item, armor awesome becouse Ember die easy in late game. Combinated with Desolator you will reduce armor too all enemies -11.
Pure damage for Ember, AWESOME.
I will ment this item here also, i use it more than buriza. But for ember buriza is awesome item. Take MKB if they have heroes like Pandaren, Troll, Mortred... and other guys with evasion (passive/active)
Awesome in late game also.
Sphere is also situational item. Take it if enemies have alot of nukers. It will be more usefull than HoT.



Owning with Ember Spirit is pretty easy, so you will probably be able to take expensive items and CARRY out game.

But if you want to play like a NUKERthen your build shall be like this:




Eye of Skadi don't really fit in his "fire" look but its awesome item and give everything you need.




Play Style

Level: 1-5:
You shall try to farm some gold and take some mana-solvers and boots you can gank.
If you have some, good nuker, slower/disabler/stunner on line, try to get first blood.


Level 6-10:
You now have ult and your ganks begin here.
Becouse of low mana pool, you shall "shot out" all your, all 3 remainants on one place, they will deal 3x140 damage = 420 damage, so you don't need to use your sub-skill more than once, becouse you won't have enough mana for second sub-skill cast. Like this you will be able to deal that 420 damage for 150 mana.
When your remainants detonate they supose to kill nearly creeps. If it do so use searing chains and flame guard and Sleight of fist. If enemy survive, follow him for duration of flame guard, then finish him with 1 more Sleight of Fist.
-Your damage depend on your skills so you will need more experience than others. You can easy kill enemy 1v1, and that's what you shall do. Look for solo enemies and fast burst them.


Level 11-15:
It suposed to have extra mana in this part of game.
You shall still be able to solo gank solo enemies.
If you still have minor problems with mana, then you shall "shot out" only 2 remainants to the targeted location. Activate Flameguard and follow enemy till you sure that your Searing Chains will afect ganked hero. While enemy under effect of searing chains you shall use Sleight of Fist, becouse sleight of fist move you back to the place from what you cast.
Becouse you will attack enemy while he is running you will be slower than him. 3rd remaint use when your Searing Chains are ready. Also Sleight of Fist while enemy is chained.

Otherwise, if you are going to use Sleight of Fist while enemy isn't chained be sure that you are having your ult ready, so you can catch up him.

If enemy have Scroll of Town Portal try to save your Searin Chains so you can cancel his Scroll of Town Portal.


Level 16-25:
Late game, this can be hard part of game for Xin, but not if you are ganked enough.
Physical damage dealers can easy eat Xin, but in this part game Xin is supose to kill their nukers, and suport.
Becouse of wide mana pool, Ember can spit his remaint on 3 casts of sub skill.
When ganking Xin shall use ult only if his Searing Chains are ready.
Or to catch up enemy hero that blinked or runned away becouse u used Sleight of Fist.


Escaping mechansm:
At start i said that Flame Guard can save your A$$ when they ganking you, True, but Searing Chains are also very useful.
If you are chased by meele enemies Warp them with Searing Chains and run away, not so useful against Ranged Enemies.

Sleight of Fist with perfect timing can be used for dodging many incoming spells, I will mention only some:














And many more...

Fire Remainants Can be used on same way as Puck's Orb.
Throw remainant where you want to go, and use sub-skill to go there.


Fire Remainant's trick:

And here is another one. I died, and my fire remainants left unused. Buyed-back my self and made double kill.




Friends&Foe:

Friends:
Best allies for Ember are all guys that disable, stun, silence, slow, but also there are few specific:


Dragonus, this guy is awesome, his silence, and spell damage amplifie stack so good with Ember's skills, none will survive.


As i already said, Ember suffer from physical damage, disam from this guy really help.


Constant slows from this hero make enemies enable to escape.


Hold enemies in limited space and silence them, AWESOME!

Foes:
Worst enemies for Ember are physical dealers:


This guy is real pain in A$$. He is one of best physical damage dealers. Also burn your mana and reduce 50% magical damage, WTH.


He have awesome damage, also have 25% magical resistance.
Never go solo on this guy.


Damn it, this guy is though. He have 20% magical resistance and up to 8 illusion. 10 illusions if he have manta, and 2 more from first and second skill. He Gonna eat you.


With silence and frost arrow, you will be dead before you get chance to get close.


Take care of her. She is more dangerous than it looks.


This guy gonna be hard to gank, he can deal 140 dps for 5 and be magical immune.


Becouse of common build of diffusial blade and aoe silence, you might become hunted.


This guy is worst enemy for Ember. His doom completely destroy him.
As nuker, xin can't do anything while "doomed".
