BACKGROUND STORY

Banehallow is an avatar of bestial fury created by the scourge. For years he has dwelled in the dark forests of the world, hunting innocents that wander therein. Now he is called to aid his masters. He revels in blood and battle, using his wolfish persona to draw the feral beasts to his side and imbue his allies with his flesh-shredding strength. He is also unnaturally quick and agile. Some say he can even transform into a giant wolf, giving him more durability and the speed to gouge and maim with near impunity.

INTRODUCTION

Lycan is a mid-game DPSer hero and a strong carry if farm well. He is also a decent pusher and has a decent great chasing/escaping mechanism. Lycan is NOT a hero with beautiful spells and has totally no disables. It is solely just an attacking hero so if you are looking for heroes with magnificent spells please kindly choose another hero.

SKILLS AND DESCRIPTION


Summon Wolves

Summon 2 wolves to fight for you. This skill is used throughout the game, especially during early to mid-game. It is used for jungling ( using it to dmg or tank camp creeps ) at early-game and mid-game. You don't need to use it for jungling at mid-game because you are strong enough to deal with camp creeps yourself, so pratically you use it to scout because when your Summon Wolves is at level 4, your wolves are invisible. These wolves are also useful throughout the game for extra DPS. Don't look down on these wolves, they make a very big difference in your killing attempts. Wolves can be used to push lanes as well.


Howl

This skill adds more damage to yourself, wolves and allies throughout the map. This skill is maxed out last since it isn't as useful as the others, and Lycanthrope's mana pool doesn't support it at early to mid-game.


Feral impulse

This is maxed out right after Summon Wolves because it increases your attack spd and dmg for yourself and your wolves. It will not affect your mana problems at early game because it DOESN'T require mana.


Shapeshift

This is what opponents fear, your ultimate. It has low cooldown, increases your attack spd and healthpoint, gives you critical strike and maximum movement spd for you and your units. You cannot be slowed in this form

This skill build must be used at all cases because you are a pretty much solo hero. Summon wolves must be maxed first for early to mid game farming and full-game ganking. Feral impulse is more useful as compared to howl because of the increase of attack spd and dmg WITHOUT mana usage. DO NOT ADD STATS OVER HOWL BECAUSE YOU'LL BE USING HOWL IN MID TO LATE-GAME ALMOST EVERY GANK. Shapeshift is added each time you get your chance to.


ITEM BUILD

CORE



Vladmir offerings gives you mana regen, and allied units around you and yourself lifesteal, extra armour and extra damage. It is made up of the Ring of Basilius, which is bought as a starting item for decent amount of mana regen for early game. This is the most important item for Lycan.

Bashers is a very very useful item for Lycan because Lycan has no nukes, no disables and no AoE skills. Bashers is like a passive melee 'stun' which Lycan needs. It gives an extra dmg of 40 and 6 STR, which will increase your hp a little.

Power Threads is the best choice of boots for Lycan because it gives lycan an extra 8 STR, which improves BOTH hp and dmg. It also helps increase your att spd.

Hyperstone increases your attack spd dramatically, and increases your chance of bash due to the increased number of attacks done. You may say Black King Bar is more appropriate but trust me, i played many games using Lycan and Black King Bar isn't a need for Lycan because Lycan can escape quickly using Shapeshift if anything goes wrong. Hyperstone on the other hand helps to finish off your target more quickly so enemy heroes will not be in time to save your prey.

Orb of Venom is a useful mechanism for chasing your target because of the buff placer. It slows your prey down so you can chase up to him to finish your prey off.

Perseverance is useful as it gives 10 extra bonus dmg. Most importantly, it gives you mana and health regen so you can quickly get back into shape for your next gank.


ALTERNATE CORE



SnY helps you slow your target, and the extra attack spd will be good.

Armlet gives you extra hp and increased attack spd.

Phase boots give extra dmg and spd boost in case of ultimate cooldown.


LUXURY ITEMS



Battlefury can made by upgrading your perseverance. It gives you a cleave which helps you push and farm creeps for further luxuries. Furthermore, you can dmg all heroes in the AoE during team battles.
Assault cuirass can be made my upgrading your hyperstone, sacrificing ABIT of your attack spd for an increased armour AoE for allies and decreased armour for enemies.
Monkey King Bar gives a huge bonus dmg and gives ministuns. True strike enable you to nvr miss on anything even on heroes with evasions.
Desolator reduces armour of your target when you attacked him, and gives a huge amount of bonus dmg.
Satanic give lifesteal, and when activated, an attack you do you get 175% of lifesteal (:


SITUATIONAL ITEMS



Hearts give you extra life and hp regen, as well as abit of dmg. Helps if you keep getting counter-ganked.
Radiance to finish off lucky preys that are able to run away from you espacially invisible heroes like rikimaru.
