1. Hero's Introduction
True to his name, the Spiritbreaker is excellent at crushing the fight out of an enemy target. His skills are focused on disabling and killing a single enemy hero, making him much more effective in ambushes and one on one situations than large team battles. The Spiritbreaker generally opens with a Charge of Darkness, which allows him to charge from any point on the map towards the target, increasing in speed as he approaches his target. Upon arrival, he delivers a crushing stun, giving him time to follow up with his other active ability: Netherstrike. Netherstrike is a short range teleporting attack, which knocks the target back and deals massive damage. The Spiritbreaker's two passive skills supplement this combo. Empowering Haste is a aura which significantly boosts the movement speed of the Spiritbreaker and nearby allies, as well as providing him with a damage bonus based on his movement speed. Greater Bash is partly what makes the Spiritbreaker so feared by lone enemies. Upon connecting a Greater Bash, the Spiritbreaker deals extra damage and knocks the target back, stunning and disabling them completely. With Charge of Darkness, Greater Bash, and Netherstrike, hapless targets of the Spiritbreaker's attention are often dead before they can so much as lift a finger in retaliation.2. Background Story
An outcast of the Spirithoof clan, Barathrum retreated in shame to the Ethereal Plane, feeding off wandering souls to sustain himself, and wandered aimlessly for centuries, alone and miserable. Found and recruited by the Lich King, Barathrum's uncanny speed and wraithlike powers have now been unleashed upon the Material Plane, his lantern able to project nether energy into enemies, sending them backwards with sudden force. With the ability to close the distance between himself and a target in seconds, Barathrum the Spiritbreaker is more than a match for anyone.3. Advanced Statistics

Strength = 23 + 2.8
At Level 25, without any items, plus the attribute bonuses, his Strength will be 110, which is pretty high! This would mean that his HP would be 2240 and damage will be 155-165, giving him great damage output. He also will have an HP regeneration of 4.05 hit points per second, which is fairly decent.
Agility = 17 + 1.7
His strength may be high, but his agility is mediocre at best. Doing the level 25, without items plus the attribute bonuses test again, his agility would be 78, making his armor 16 (which will reduce incoming attack damage by 49%, for all the nerds there) and makes him attack 1.15 times a second.
Intelligence = 15 + 1.8
Ditto for intelligence. In fact, at level 25, with no items plus all the attribute bonuses, it will also be 78. This means that his mana will be 1209 and his mana regenration will be 3.63. So, theoretically, if you have full mana and then used Charge+Nether Strike, by the time Nether Strike cools down (with you not using Charge, that is) his mana will be full again! Still, for the fast-paced games now, his mana pool is pretty low.

4. Pros and Cons
Pros
[+] One of the best DPS heroes in DotA
[+] Great ganker
[+] Strong one-on-one hero
[+] Fastest hero in DotA (after the application of Empowering Haste)
Cons
[-] Not much of a team fighter (only team skill is Nether Strike, which only becomes a team skill if you have Aghanim's Scepter)
[-] Item-dependent
[-] Can sometimes be a burger for the opponent late-game if not enough items
[-] He's a cow (this could be a pro, but it's a con for me)
5. Skills and Skill Build
Charge of DarknessBarathrum fixes his sight on an enemy and starts charging through all objects. Any unit that comes into contact during the charge triggers a greater bash proc. Upon leaving the shadows, Barathrum shocks his opponent into an immobile state for some time. Enemy can only see buff indicator when you are near them. Charge is interrupted if disabled.Notes:
• Target will become aware of the charge (a buff is visible in the status bar) when Barathrum is within 2500 distance.Personal Take:
• Barathrum will run through units and trees.
• Allies of Barathrum (and himself) will see an animation over the head of the target.
• Any unit you pass through (250 AoE) will proc a Greater Bash of your current level (nothing will happen if you didn't skill it)
• The charge stops if you click anywhere, or if you are disabled.
• Barathrum gains shared vision of the target for the duration.
• If the target dies, the charge is transferred to the nearest valid target.
This is Barathrum's main ganking skill. With this, you can roam around the map like there's no tomorrow. This skill makes him the ultimate ganker. Also, every unit you pass while charging will be striken with a Greater Bash of your current level, making it hard to stop you. One more thing, you won't need to stand for 4 seconds to charge out, you'll just start charging immediately (just like the earlier version of this skill). Sadly,he is no longer magic immune while charging.
Empowering HasteCauses the Spiritbreaker to swing his weapon faster with higher movement speed, allowing him to deal extra damage. His presence increases the movement speed of nearby allied units.Notes:
• The bonus damage is added to Barathrum's ordinary attack damage.Personal Take:
Barathrum's cream-of-the-crop skill. This gives him more movement speed, and adds a percentage of his movement speed to his damage. Will make him one of the best chasers/escapers in the game (As Charge of Darkness has a relatively high cooldown). Also makes him a great DPS hero with the right items. Get this skill with every opportunity you get.
Greater BashGives a 17% chance to bash enemies across the ground, doing more initial damage and damage as they skid. You gain 15% movement speed bonus for 3 seconds when this triggers.Notes:
• Damage type: magicalPersonal Take:
• Greater Bash is triggered everytime Spiritbreaker initiates an attack, so it is not necessary to land the attack in order for Greater Bash to work.
One of the better disables in the game. This skill makes Barathrum one of the feared one-on-one opponents, and if you're lucky, you can take on Spectre one-on-one because of this skill. Better to get this early on.
Nether StrikeMoves you next to your target doing extra damage. Performs a greater bash hit. Casting range improves per level.Notes:
• Damage type: magicalPersonal Take:
• Barathrum will move to the other side of the target seen from the point he cast it.
• Always performs a Greater Bash level 4 upon casting.
• Teleportation and damage is delayed 1 second while Barathrum is fading out, Barathrum is magic immune for this time period.
• Can be improved by Aghanim's Scepter (* shows the improved values).
• With Aghanim's Scepter, performs a Greater Bash level 4 on all units in a 250 AoE of Spiritbreaker upon arrival.
A great chasing skill. Even if the opponent is teleporting, you appear next to him after a second (except when he tp'ed to the fountain. NOT COOL.) Also an underrated juking skill. You can use it to confuse your opponent that you are using it on him, causing a delay to his reactions, sometimes the time needed to escape. Becomes an instant team battle skill with Aghanim's.Skill Builds

In most pub games I see, these are what they do with Barathrum. The problem with this build is that it wastes the potential of Charge, which will make you own opponents early. But you can get more farming potential from this build, making you a better hero late game. Personally, I don't use this skill build because of the aforementioned reasons.

Remember to only use this build if you have reliable disablers in the lane you will gank; otherwise you'll get level gapped. This build will enable you to gank in Level 4, given that you have great disablers on the gank lane.
