1 Part Goblin, part CHAINSAW
Once there was a forest, now the barren wastelands where that forest used to be is called the forgotten forests, because Rizzrak decided to pass through.
The Goblin Shredder can only be controlled by people who can push a button!
So if you don't know what that red button is don't worry push it!

Choof Choof, RRRRrrrrrrr, crack, BOOOOOM. There goes another tree.

6 Friends and Foes

Friends: Allies that Rizzrak loves.

As Goblin Shredder is a tank he likes Heroes who can make use of the time he's giving them to wipe out the rest of the opposing team, several strong innitiators and AOE kings fall into this catagory.

Enigma enables the Chakram to continue spinning and slowing the enemies in a nice tight bunch untill they can't move anymore.

Allies Rizzrak really likes:

Chasing:
versus physical

Raigor Stonehoof is a great partner to have versus a physical lineup, and you don't need as many items to make this work, which is especially usefull as Raigor likes an early start. also Chakram and Fissure both have relatively small AOE which you can use when focus targetting small groups.

versus magical

Thrall the Farseer is a great partner versus magical opponents both of you will take longer to build up your items in this situation and will start rocking past lvl 8.
Thrall removes the need for you to get a silence item like Orchid and instead you can buy a Guinsoo and make the enemy heroes move too slowly to get out of your Charkram, after the Chakram slows your enemy he will be moving too slow to get away.

Doom has a nice silence to remove Goblin Shredders 1 weakness.

If you're just ganking:

Huskar casts lifebreak Shredder casts Chakram 75% slow, no escape. very nice combo these two heroes. Huskar can keep Shredder alive while he's getting those stacks of reactive armor. unfortunatly this doesn't work so well against teams. Necrolyte does this better than shredder.

For your amusement try this:
Rooftrellen and Nortrom the silencer, If you want to create a Tank line, you can keep Rooftrellen Just a bit behind Rizzrak keep the living armour up and just soak up any physical damage they're still capable of dishing out while the enemies targetting you get killed. Silence, 30hp+ regen and strong armour defence make these 3 into a solid undefeatable block. Only you don't have anyone to defeat the opponent.

7 Strategy

Early game (1-6)
During the first few lvl's the Shredder does yet have reactive armor generating his health back for him, he also has very low base armor, so he needs the extra armor from reactive armor. This means that for the first few lvl's you need to be partnered up and getting killing as many creeps per wave as you can, so that other heroes don't get away from you.

If you draw the creepwave close to the tree's you can cause more damage with Whirling Death , because the damage becomes pure. So trying drawing the creepwaves back just a little above your own slope, to take up a defensive position near your tower, but not so close that your tower targets the creeps.

I want to know more!

ok, let's get into the more advanced choices.
Which lane should I choose, I prefer top lane scourge, but bottom lane sentinel works too. Due to all of Rizzrak's skills destroying tree's, the Shredder is great at creepjungling.

In Shredders case you need to let your carry get as many of the creepkills at the tower, and lvl up while the opponent gets nothing. By the time your carry hits lvl 5 they have to change lanes just to get some xp and cash, without a high risk of dieing. And you can start getting some xp yourself, you should still only be lvl 2 or so as you were keeping the creepwaves occupied with the junglecreeps.

9 Terminoligy

Terminoligy
  • Affiliation, the group you join when you enter the game, either Sentinal or Scourge
  • Attack Animation, When a player(hero) performs a basic attack on an enemy, it creates an attack animation. This is the standard action a hero does when left near an enemy.
  • Attack Speed, the tempo of your base attacks.
  • Auto-Attacking, when you let your hero attack without giving any other order.
  • BAT, Base Attack Time, the amount of time it would normally take for you to attack, this changes with your IAS, to find out more use the link on Attack Speed
  • Cast Animation, When a player(hero) uses an ability they perform an animation, this is called a cast animation.
  • Chaser, A hero that moves around very fast, able to keep up with other heroes.
  • Creeps, There are 4 types of creeps the 2 regular kind of creeps are a mage and 3 melee creeps(quantity increases as the game progresses). There are also catapults that sometimes are sent on a creepwave, and later in the game you can even have 2 of them spawn. Finally you have neutral creeps these spawn at set locations in the jungle on the map, for more information about these check out Luminous's excellent video on
    jungling
  • Creepjungling, You stop your own creepwave before it gets to the opponents creepwave with a group of jungle heroes by pulling the jungleheroes close to the lane where the creeps pass by.
  • Creepwave, every 30 seconds a creeps will spawn at the bases on either end of the map and start moving towards the base at the other end of the map through 3 paths that cross the map from left-bottom to top-right.
  • Damage types,
    • Hero damage, damage that will only effect heroes.
    • Magical, damage which is classed as magic damage, this is reduced with magical resistance, or magic absorption.
    • Physical, damage which is classed as physical damage, this is reduced by the enemies armour rating.
    • Pure, damage which isn't classed as any other type of damage, or is classed as pure damage, and can't be reduced by defenses.
  • Disabler, A hero that makes it hard for other heroes to move.
  • Ganker, In DotA this is a hero killer, unlike the dictionary definition, where it's to Group and Kill an opponent online, without their consent. In Dota it's always with an opponents consent as you go into the game intending to do battle with eachother, and the grouping part has pretty much been forgotten, it's more like Go and Kill these days in online games.
  • Hotkey, a key on your keyboard with which you can access a skill without having to click the skill with your mouse.
  • IAS, increased attack speed, see attack speed and BAT for more information.
  • Sight Range, the distance you see. The first number indicates daytime view range and the second number indicates nighttime view range.
  • Tank, being hard to kill and drawing off the damage that would otherwise kill your weaker allies.
  • Turtle, turtling is drawing a game out by maintaining towers and killing creepwaves near them in order to get into the late game with more lvl's and cash.
