Abilites
Echo Stomp
Calls upon the spirit of his ancestors to join him in an earth-shattering echo, rendering nearby foes unconscious. The spirit and Tauren Chieftain both deal 80 damage in the area, the Spirit dealing magical damage and the physical form dealing physical damage. Unconscious enemies will wake if they get hit. If the spirit is separated from you, it will still perform its part of the spell. 1.4 second cast time.
Your stun skill, needs 1.4 second until the stun works. If you get's disabled / stunned and your still channeling it, or you cancel it, the stun won't work.

Ancestral Spirit
The Tauren Chieftain sends forth his guardian ancestor to bring ruin upon his foes. While separate from the Chieftain, the spirit will mimic his movement and damage any unit it passes through. When it rejoins the Chieftain, it grants him bonus damage and movement speed for each enemy it has struck.
This is your nuke, that needs good microing, and gives more enemy Heroes / Units you pass, more damage, movementspeed. And is the start of an gank.

Natural Order
The Tauren Chieftain uses wisdom gathered throughout the ages to reduce everything to its most basic level. Removes base Magic and Physical resistance.
This is your Aura, that weaks really strong your enemy. 80% Armor and Magic resistance get's removed. Means, a enemy Hero got 10 Armor and a Magic Resistance of 25%, his Armor will crippled to 2 and the Magic Resistance to 5%.

Earth Splitter
Using his mighty axe, the Tauren Chieften rends the very earth itself, sending a jagged crack under the feet of his enemies. After several seconds the earth implodes, sending his foes tumbling inwards. Any unit caught in the implosion will take damage based on their maximum life and have their speed slowed for a short time. Implodes after 3 seconds. Deals 35% of a unit's maximum HP.
Your Ultimate, deals terrible damage (35% of max. Hitpoints) means, 3000 Hitpoints then your Ultimate hits him, and he loses 1050 damage. But, it's got an delay of 3 seconds. So used it, if the enemy is disabled, or stunned.

Pro's and Con's

Pro's
- Great attack animation to last hit / deny.
- Got an long stun (max. 5 seconds).
- Ancestral Spirit that passes 5 Heroes and a Horde of creeps, gives you an incredible increase of attack damage and speed.
- His Ultimate can turn team-fights.
- Got an fast movementspeed with Boots of Speed, very fast.
- Ultimate get's not weaker from Early to Late-Game.
- Great ganker Hero (Ancestral Spirit -> Echo Stomp -> Earth Splitter).

Con's
- Abilites have an huge mana cost.
- Cairnes' Mana-Pool is low.
- Echo Stomp and his Ultimate are delayed abilites (Echo Stomp 1.4s, Earth Splitter 3s).
- Stun get's removed, if the unit get's damaged by Hero damage.
- Against Heroes with 'Blink' he can't do anything if he land not Echo Stomp.

Offensive Build and Play-Style

Skill Build
1. Ancestral Spirit
2. Echo Stomp
3. Ancestral Spirit
4. Natural Order
5. Ancestral Spirit
6. Earth Splitter
7. Ancestral Spirit
8-10. Natural Order
11. Earth Splitter
12-15. Stats
16. Earth Splitter
17-22 Stats
23-25 Echo Stomp

Explanation,
Ancestral Spirit is maxed first, because it's your main nuke ability, and with the effects of the damage and more speed you'll may have no problems, killing the enemy. Natural Order is followed, to deal more damage. Then from 12-15 Stats and max Earth Splitter, max Stats and skill aslast Echo Stomp full.

Start Items
In Start if you go in dual or solo lane, buy as fast as possible Ring of Health, and upgrade it into Perservance. Boots of Speed is followed, and upgrade Perservance in Battle Fury. Go for Helm of the Dominator.

Core Items

Battle Fury

Battle Fury is in the Offensive Build standard, because with Ancestral Spirit and it passed 3-4 Heroes and an Horde of creeps, your Cleave Damage is pitiful!

Satanic

Satanic should Tauren Chieftains main Orb in the Offensive Build. Already said by the Battle Fury, passed the Ancestral Spirit enough, your having no problems to leech life.

Assault Cuirass

Assault Cuirass is for more attack speed, Armor to can take more damage, and leech bit more life of the -5 Armor-Aura.

Buriza-Do-Kyanon

This item is a must in Tauren Chieftains Offensive Build, with Ancestral Spirits, and it passed enough units, your Critical Strike will hurting.

Kelen's Dagger

Kelen's Dagger for an reason, if you use Ancestral Spirit followed by Echo Stomp and Earth Splitter, you'll maybe will lose them if they gonna disable or stun you, just blink to them instead of running, and focus their disablers and stunners. And enables you to deal 160 damage from Echo Stomp, if you got enemys, that aren't fast noticing.

Luxury Items

Monkey King Bar

If your enemy is teleporting away, and it takes to long for Echo Stomp, or enemys picked Heroes like Mortred, Gondar or Heroes that buys Butterfly, is this Item with the True Strike an must item.

The Butterfly

If your team needs no Armor-Auras or attack speed Auras, and your enemy has an weak armor. Then you can instead of Assault Cuirass buy The Butterfly, with +30% attack speed, +30 Agility, +30 attack speed, and +30 damage you'll having sure more attackspeed as with Assault Cuirass.

Arcane Ring

If you have often Mana leaks, and needs to spam your Ancestral Spirit, buy Arcane Ring, +3 Armor, +300 Mana and the Replenish Mana ability. Cost 25 Mana and restores 135 Mana, means 110 Mana restores to you.

Rejected Items

Sange & Yasha

I've tried by myself, Sange & Yasha by Tauren Chieftain. It's useless, you don't need to chase, you got Ancestral Spirit and Echo Stomp to catch them, movementspeed need you too not, Ancestral Spirit passes more units and Heroes, and you're faster then Sange & Yashas' movementspeed. Maim is useless, because you need damage for an better Lifesteal from Satanic.

Radiance

Radiance is worthless for Tauren Chieftain, and it interrupts your Echo Stomp duration, and it let's the enemy team completely focus you, and your in the Offensive Build not a Tank.

Heart of Tarrasque

Well, I said it already. Tauren Chieftain is in the Offensive Build not a Tank.

Early-Game

In Early-Game you go if you're in the Sentinel, bottom lane. If you're in the Scourge, top lane. That you haven't a far way to the Goblin Shops, and to block successfully the creeps, to get faster levels. Last hit as good as possible to gain fast experience and Gold, deny the Creeps to gain a bit experience and slow down the leveling of your enemy. If you make your first trip back, you got maybe Perservance, Level 7 or higher, and in your Circle of Power Boots of Speed and anyother Item for Power Treads (Str), or directly an Item for Battle Fury. If you got at start meele Heroes as enemies in your lane, and no ranged you can try, and harras your enemy.

Middle-Game

If you got in Middle-Game Power Treads (STR), and Battle Fury and maybe Mask of Death or Helm of the Dominator you can begin to gank your enemy. Use the main gank tactic of Tauren Chieftain: Ancestral Spirit to the enemies -> Echo Stomp -> Earth Splitter, should by the max Hitpoints of your enemies, maybe beetwen 700 and 1000, 400-600 damage deal. Try to get Hyperstone and Crystalys, to have an fast attack speed to get enough Critical Strikes from Crystalys. Use Ancestral Spirit and Echo Stomp whenever you have Mana left, begin a gank or to save from one of your allies the life.

Late-Game

In Late-Game when you got maybe enough Gold for Buriza and Satanic or Assault Cuirass. You'll maybe already unkillable. If you had like no problems killing the enemy Heroes, and didn't need Satanic, upgrade Satanic as last. Now it's your job, to push, to deal terrible damage for your enemies, and to save always your allies the life with your Ancestral Spirit and Echo Stomp. Now your like hell spamming your Ancestral Spirit to get more damage, to get the max from your Buriza-Do-Kyanon and Satanic out. Use Earth Splitter if the enemies trying to run away or as start, to win the team-fight to 100%. If the game is like end for your enemies, you can go to destroy the last staying Towers to get Mega Creeps, or to stay as an deathguard by the enemy Fountain, and kill them always, that them won't get no chance to defend their Base anymore.

Supportive Build and Play-Style

Skill Build
1. Echo Stomp
2. Ancestral Spirit
3. Echo Stomp / Ancestral Spirit
4. Ancestral Spirit / Echo Stomp
5. Echo Stomp
6. Earth Splitter
7. Echo Stomp
8-9. Ancestral Spirit
10. Natural Order
11. Earth Splitter
12-14 Natural Order
15. Stats
16. Earth Splitter
17-25. Stats

Explanation
In this Build, you're gonna to support your ally in the lane, and in the game. Echo Stomp is maxed first, because you'll support your ally with 5s stun if he get's chased by Heroes like Bloodseeker or Slardar.

Start Items
If you're with an allied on the lane, then go with Clarity Potions (3x), and Healing Salve (2x) cost 350 gold.

Core Items

Shiva's Guard

Shiva's Guard is getting, because your supporting now your team. You'll get essential Intelligence thats need for spamming your spells, and +15 Armor to stay longer.

Guinsoo's Scythe of Vyse

Guinsoo's Scythe of Vyse is get to disable, because. I mention already that his stun will removed by the first Hero damage the stunned get's. So you can disable the strongest and dangeroust.

Refresher Orb

Refresher Orb is get, now with Guinsoo's Scythe of Vyse and Shiva's Guard you got an high Mana-pool and an fast Mana-regeneration, so you should now able, to cast your Ultimate two times, Shiva's two times, Ancestral Spirit and Echo Stomp.

Orchid Malevolence

Is bought for faster attack speed, bit more Intelligence, Mana-regeneration, attack damage and the Soul Burn ability.

Boots of Travel

Boots of Travel is his only Boots he should get. Now you can go to anyother lane, push faster or kill a Horde of creeps, because you're an pure area of effect damager.

Heart of Tarrasque

You're an supporter Tank, you need Heart of Tarrasque, because you're gonna to support your team, and Tank the damage.

Luxury Items

Eye of Skadi

Eye of Skadi could you instead of Orchid buy, to tank more damage, more Armor, and slow your enemies that your allies have no problems to follow him.

Necronomicon

If you want a bit more pushing power, and needs a bit more Strenght, and want to burn your enemies Mana, Necronomicon could you instead of Guinsoo's Scythe of Vyse buy.

Rejected Items

Eul's Scepter of Divinity

You don't need more movementspeed, you have with Boots of Travel 400 movementspeed. And Cyclone isn't that usefull for Tauren Chieftain, you have Echo Stomp, remember?

Battle Fury

You're no damager, you're an supporter. Let's someone else buy Battle Fury, who needs it (Sven, Mortred, Magnus, etc.).

Radiance

Like in the Offensive Build, it's cancel your Echo Stomp, and your no damager like said by Battle Fury (Supportive Build), you're a supporter.

Early-Game

In Early-Game you buy Clariy Potions (3x), and Healing Salves (2x). Then you go to a dual lane, and try's to support your ally in the lane so good as possible, try to save your ally with Echo Stomp if you get ganked. Buy Ultimate Orb, Boots of Speed, and Void Stone as fast as possible.

Middle-Game

In Middle-Game you've maybe now Guinsoo's Scythe of Vyse, and already Boots of Travel or Plate Mail. Now you must go for Shiva's Guard and Orchid Malevolence. You're maybe level 11-13 and use your Ancestral Spirit and Echo Stomp to begin the team-fight, remember, you support your team. If an allies from your team becomes chased, you save him with Ancestral Spirit and Echo Stomp combo.

Late-Game

Now it's time to push, and Tank the damage if you got Heart of Tarrasque. Maybe you're already got Perservance or Oblivion Staff for Refresher Orb. If a lane is completely pushed (Tower destroyed, Barracks destroyed), you can with Boots of Travel fast change the lane and push. If you finished Refresher Orb, you've sure in team-fights 2-3 kills. Your dual Earth Splitter deals like hell damage, and makes your team sure win team-fights -> game.

Allies and Enemies

Allies

Heroes that can disable, hex, stun or hold the enemies on their positions, will your friends. They allows you, that your Ultimate or Ancestral Spirit -> Echo Stomp combo will work.

Enemies

Heroes like the five showed aren't nice to Tauren Chieftain.
Magina: With Blink and his Mana Break ability he avoids your stuns, your Ultimate, and burns your Mana away.
Nortrom: Ancestral Spirit -> Silence 3 seconds. Echo Stomp -> Silence 3 seconds. You won't able if you're in his Last Word radius, able to cast your combo without always getting silenced.
Lucifer: LVL? Death hurts you already if you're in the multiple, and with Doom you're not able casting something, and playing the Supportive Style is painful.
Anub'Arak: He use Mana Burn, you lost to much Mana for your Spells, he comes Vendetta -> Impale -> Attack -> Mana Burn -> Attack -> Impale, you're dead.
Rikimaru: He go for Diffusal, and burns your Mana, use Smoke Bomb, slows you and Silences you aslong he attacks with Diffusal to burn your Mana.

Last Word
I hope the Guide helped you a bit, or showed you an another playstyle. You don't need to follow the Guide, I only made it because I had free time, and like to play Tauren Chieftain, and anyother Hero in other ways.
