A few words

Yurnero was one of the first heroes that i've played and from the first time he amazed me with his high-dps early and semi-carry potential making him an killing machine.

I may not be an MYM member but i can easly say that i've mastered this hero and he's great, that why i want to share my knowledge with everyone.Even if i mastered this hero you may disagree with something regarding the guide, don't be afraid to post and we'll debate it together.

Basic information about Yurnero the Juggernaut

If you didn't know the term "Juggernaut" means mass-destruction so his name resembles exactly what he does. With an high-dps early skill and the ultimate that scales as the game goes one he's one of the best all-game-heroes but i just hate when i see SnY on this hero or battle fury..just damn it.

Pros:

  • High-Dmg spells
  • Noob friendly
  • Scales well into late-game
  • It's strong all game long
  • Strong Ganker with bladefury+omnislash
  • Extremely spammable DPSl
  • Omnislash causes devastation

Cons:

  • Poor starting mana
  • Poor int gain
  • Omnislash however devastating cannot be relied on 100% of the time
  • Needs a decent amount of farm to be effective

Yurnero's Role's:

To define his role, lets look what he is good at. That would be:

1. Ganking
2. Semi-Carrying
3. DPSing
4. Farming
5. Initiating

Having magic-imunity+DPS spell Yurnero is one of the best non-blink initiators, using the same DPS spell to gank and ulti in some situations, criticals so you can farm more easly.

Hero Stats:

Strength: 20 + 1.9
Agility: 20 + 2.85
Intelligence: 14 + 1.4

Damage: 44 - 48
Armor: 3.9
Movespeed: 305
Attack Range: Melee

Skills

Blade Fury

Your primary spell. It deals alot of damage especially early game can be used in an attempt to first blood but you might need an stunner with you also don't spam on creeps.

Level 1: 80 damage.
Level 2: 100 damage.
Level 3: 120 damage.
Level 4: 140 damage.

Manacost: 110
Cooldown: 30/28/26/24
Casting Range: 250

• Damage type: magical
• This skill won't affect mechanical units.
• You can use items (including TP Scroll/ Boots of Travel) during Blade Fury.
• Ethereal units aren't affected by this skill.
• If a unit is not being affected by Blade Fury, Yurnero can perform normal attacks against this unit.

Healing Ward

Recently buffed but i still don't use it, so i won't cover it in this guide.

Blade Dance

The skill that makes your right-click power an feared thing even among tanks like Davion.

Level 1: 10%
Level 2: 18%
Level 3: 26%
Level 4: 36%

Manacost: N/A
Cooldown: N/A
Casting Range: N/A

Omnislash

Your signature skill.Creep-less it can deal massive amounts of damage while you are invulnerable.

Level 1: Attacks 3 times dealing 150-250 damage per attack
Level 2: Attacks 5 times dealing 150-250 damage per attack
Level 3: Attacks 8 times dealing 150-250 damage per attack

• Damage type: physical
• Can be improved by Aghanim's Scepter .
• Interrupts channeling skills of the primary target.
• Each slash deals 150 - 250 damage, with an interval of 0.4 seconds.
• With enough attack speed, Yurnero can attack with his own attack strength while jumping around, in these attacks Yurnero can place buffs and trigger chance effects.
• The slashes can't be avoided by evasion. The normal attacks, however, can.
• You can use items while using Omnislash.

Usage:

First you need to find an target.

Note: The X is considered an enemy hero

Blade Fury
Yes, it's one of the most powerfull DPS spells but it can be used defensively too!(having an orgasm yet?)

You are running from one or more heroes, they have stuns that may kill you! What do you do ? if possible enter an juke spot and fastly tap "F" then double-tap the TP scroll from your inventory(you have one right?)

That will render you invulnerable to any spells. You can receive only pshyhical damage but(too good to be true)
There are some spells that can stop your escape, as you may know ultimates work on units with magic-imunity.Lina will waste her ultimate as it deals only damage but Pudge will stop your TP(without receiving damage) so be carefull when you are facing enemyes with stun/hold in their ultimates.

Level 11: Omnislash
Level 12: Blade Dance
Level 13: Blade Dance
Level 14: Blade Dance
Level 15: Stats
Level 16: Omnislash

Justification:

This is the most basic Yurnero build used in competitive games too, one good example would be MYM|Mania's Yurnero.
Blade Fury is getting first due it's huge potential early and stats to ensure more hp/agi/no mana problems.
Blade Dance is taken only in mid game because you damage early is too low to make an diference if doubled.

Itembuild

Yurnero can unleash hell and even achieve rampage but in order to do so he must have proper items.

Starting items:

Slippers improving LH abilityes and can be converted in PMS or Wraiths.
GG Branches for an bit of everything and not last an Good Game.
Tangoes so you can stay more in the lane and kill the enemy heroes.

Core:

[ OR ]

Phase Boots damage, MS and Phase ability so you can use your Blade Fury more effectively.
Desolator it grants you an fair amount of damage and the corruption orb that improves your ultimate alot.
TP Scrolls you should carry at least 1 on any hero, but on Yurnero it's noobish not to.You can easly escape almost any ganks with the strategy displayed earlier in the guide.

Luxuries:

Vladmir's combined with your criticals and the damage amplify from corruption is capable to grant you massive amounts of HP.
Butterfly every's AGI hero Luxury, grants the hero damage, tons of AS and the precious evasion.
Cuirass This is more team-oriented because you will most likely be in the 40th minute mark by the time you finish this, the carry will benefith from it's aura alot.
Divine Rapier if you got the gold it means that you are having an good start/game so you should profit from it an divine rapier assures that the enemy team won't come back and turn the game around.

Denied items:

Orbs an direct No, the only viable orb for Yurnero is the Desolator as it ads damage for Blade Dance and improves the ultimate alot.
Battlefury may seem perfect at the first view, but if you think again it grants bonuses that Yurnero dosen't need and delays your more usefull Desolator alot.
Radiance again, you look at it and you say "perfect" but no.Radiance farly boosts your damage by an decent amount but if you have that kind of money then you should go straight Rapier.
Boot of Travel an free TP scroll every cooldown, temping but aside from MS and TP it provides nothing.Phase boots provide Damage, MS and the Phase ability so the creeps can't block you.
Aghanims alot of people think that the only way to improve Yurnero's ultimate is buying Aghanims. They are so wrong..Butterfly(AS from it) adds more slashes and grants bonuses like Damage and Evasion that are alot better then what Aghanims offer.
Black King Bar as stated in an comment "Being magic-imune for 5 seconds is never bad" yeah. Can't argue with that but if you manage to blade fury + ulti in the middle of 5 enemyes then your team should have no problems with finishing half-HP enemy heroes so the BKB renders useless and delays your Core.

Pub build*NOT RECOMANDED*
[]

First of all, i DO NOT support this build, it seems like alot of people like it so i'm willing to make an compromise for the sake of Yurnero.
Treads set on AGI are superior compared to Phase boots for this build due the thing that grants AS the main thing that this build is focused on.
Sange n Yasha despite the horrible Maim orb the strenght makes you more beefy and the agility helps.
Butterfly as stated above, usefull to any AGI hero especially if your build focuses on AS.
Cuirass for the AS and armor Auras usefull to both you and your team.
Basher finally the AS pays of by giving you an passive Bash ability.
Monkey King Bar the game should be over by now, take it to have some extra fun.

Gameplay

Laning:

Yurnero can solo an lane but it's not recomanded as he needs the farm and he isn't really the best lane controllers.

He should usually lane with a stunner or "holder" like Venge that can also roam and let him get more XP.

Ganking:

Yurnero is an medium ganker, he souldn't gank without an stunner but it's possible. He should use the method explained earlier in this guide.

Pushing:

Yurnero can push easly with or without blade fury but shouldn't unless it's late game, early-mid game he should farm and gank only.

Teamfights:

Yurnero can initiate with Blade fury if it's early-mid game in late game blade fury tends to be less efective so he should initiate directly with ultimate and right-click power.
