Skill Usage

Frost Nova
Blasts enemy units around a target enemy unit with a wave of damaging frost that slows movement and attack rates for 4 seconds.


Frost Armor
Creates a shield of frost around a target friendly unit. The shield adds armor and slows attacking melee units for 2 seconds. Lasts 40 seconds.


Dark Ritual
Sacrifices a target friendly unit to convert its hit points into mana.


Chain Frost
Releases a jumping breath of frost that jumps 7 times.

Dark Ritual is taken first so you can deny the first creep, giving you an advantage against your lane oppponent. Frost Nova is maxed first because this is your main harrassing skill. For obvious reasons, take chain frost whenever necessary.After maxing out Dark Ritual, max out Frost Armor.

Starting Items


As we are rushing for Mekansm, get RoR. Buy some GG branches to provide stats and it will be made into Headress of Rejuvination and Nathrezim Buckler.
Core Item Build



Mekansm is very important to Lich. It give the team a burst AoE heal that could make the difference in most teamfights. BoT is essential for quick entry into teamfights. Bracer gives survivability, which Lich needs
Core Extensions



Aghanims improves your ultimate, it is essential for Lich, who needs his ultimate to wreak havoc during teamfights. Dagger helps you to position yourself properly to cast your ulti.
Luxuries


Shivas, Skadi, and Eul's gives Lich more weapons to utilize during teamfights, which could be devestating.
Situtuational Items



If the game drags on too long, consider getting these items. These items can counter heroes like PA, makes you tankier, provides protection from spells and gives you 2 chances to cast your ulti.

Strategy

Early Game

Laning:
In most games, usually Lich is babysitting a dual lane carry. With Frost Nova, he can also help the carry in ganking. Also, harass enemies, with your Frost Nova, make sure you force them to go back while carries are farming.

Ganking:
Always ask for help at allies, Frost Nova itself cannot kill an enemy. Ask someone to initiate, preferably a stun. Always make sure that you have enough mana for Frost Nova, if none, make sure to recover with Dark Ritual.

Mid Game

Team Clashes:
This is where Lich gets happy, team clashes. Team Clashes ensures a sure bounce for Chain Frost, plus the fact the team clashes usually happens at forest, or somewhere without too much creeps. It is at Mid game that Lich gets most of his kills/assists.
Ganking:
Now you have maxed Frost Nova and you have Chain Frost and some of your core items. At ganks, of course, always make sure cast Frost Nova often, then replenish with Dark Ritual.

Late Game
Finishing the game
Same as casters-nukers, Lich is not as effective as early game. Tanks got HUGE hp now, you need your team to kill. During this phase, the Lich's role is to support his allies by providing emergency heals and super high damage with his gamebreaking ultimate. Also remember to help in taking down towers.

Best Allies
Lich benefits from heroes with AoE skillls like Dark Seer and Magnus. Compressing them and then possibly killing creeps makes enemies easy prey. Lich also benefit from AoE Disablers. Who doesn't benefit from them? Lich also benefits from Roof since frost armor+living armor stacks. Thats a total of 24. Also, Lich is a ganker so he can benefit from other gankers like PotM,VS, and CM.



Worst Enemies
Mana Burners, Chain disablers, heroes with high burst damage, Illusions and Obsidian Destroyer are the worst enemies of Lich. They simply counter most of the abilities Lich has.
