This is my 4th and probably last guide of the summer. The others had its ups and down, but generally it was good. I would try my best for this guide since he's my favorite male hero of DotA and I'd like to do him some justice

Solo mid, meaning making most of the levels while also having a decent level of lane control. This shall be achieved with early level of Metamorphosis for the excellent base dmg increase and range burst. You don't have a nuke early game, however you significantly better DPS puts you on par with some of the most nasty but soft solo mid heroes. You might or might not win the lane, but unless you are ganked, you should be able to get decent farm

I would seriously quote myself here, since I've said it so many times already

~Early Game

Many people underestimate the importance of preparations in games, casual or competitive. That's why you see rage quitting in many pub games, simply because it's frustrating to feed that early in the game. It could always be avoided but some simply don't care. Just a few minute in game, you would feel the impact of the mediocre preparations on your shoulders, if you just happen to play against equal-skilled opponents.
So what preparations am I talking about? Well
-Mindset: Playing TB, it is going to be you, farming, and pawning later. Be prepared for a long game. If you own early, don't be hesitated to push. However never over extend yourself, and always farm when you're not pushing or teamfight. A semi-serious mood you do it
-Starting items: Get those that's most comfortable for you to use. (Not boots first/bottle (lol) first ofc). Don't grief yourself, and don't waste slot (unless you're using jungling item build)
-Software: Turn off all interferences, preferably

How to (afk) Farm - DotA Guides

The link to the AFK farm guide by Luminous. That guide and his video is better explaination than anything I could write about this part

~Late Game

Pushing (whether afk pushing, team pushing or solo pushing) can be done during all stages of the game. But because TB isn't such a great pusher without both his Zeal and Meta maxed, his pushing power is limited to mid game onward. However, the later the game, the more crucial the push. During mid game, after you got 1/2 core items, TB should be able to take down towers with great ease. Of course it's not going to be that easy. Mostly pushing at this late stage involves after or trying to provoke a team battle. Always remember to save enough of your resources so that even if a battle takes place during/after the push, you wouldn't be unprepared.

~Ninja Build

Remember that the ninja build is just for fun, and do it at your own risks. It's actually quite sad that I have to highlight that part, due to the fact that some people just can't read it well enough.
You should afk farm pretty fast if you want to be an effective ninja. Sometimes, helps you manipulate your health better, but it's not recommended, since it delays your all important Dagon upgrades. Get Dagon first, then either Blink/Lothar. Heck you can even get both.
The combo is pretty easy, when you come across (or find) the one with relatively high hp percentage but low max hp, do this:
-Makes sure your hp is relatively low
-Blink/Lothars
-Sunder him
-Orchid/Eblade/Veil him
-Dagon him
-Reflection him
-If somehow he/she's not dead, Meta up and dps him to death. You should have a nice chunk of free hp now. The great thing is that this combo doesn't even use up the much mana

Great Allies

Versaitile supports are a carry's best friend. The above either have a way to amplify your DPS, or to protect you effectively

The bad thing is, only the supports are special mentioned, since disablers are everyone's best friend and worst enemies, I won't even bother going through them

Fearsome Enemies

This one makes your Sunder relatively useless for the duration, along with your lifesteal, making you a lot more squishy than you already is

Extreme AoE heroes and the likes, they eat through your illusions like hot knife through butter

Rival carries. These heroes can actually beat you in a fair fight

High armor? Don't worry, she has pure damage. Low hp? Even better. Got illusions? She has an orb to instantly kill them. Not quite that bright? Great!!!!

Carries with superior mobilities are a pain in the ass in general. In a focused fight you should beat them, but it's not their job to kill you hand-to-hand

I'm back to my roots, writing guides in white like np. Upon finishing this I probably won't write another before DotA 2 came out (If it comes out in 2011 at all). Thank you for all the people who've been supporting me through this time. There are some who could use a special mention though. I also apologize for the lack of replays as of this moment, because even though he has recently been released into the -cm pool, he is massively underused for the potential that he brings. I would add some good pub/inhouse replay as fast as I can

-IceFrog: Obvious reasons
-InfiniHellspawn: For being a great guy in general
-The ][nquisitor: For his hero presentation template

If I forget any, don't be hesitant to remind me
