Welcome to Yurnero ultra kill edition
I decided to build this guide as Yurnero is and excellent hero but he is also underplayed.
Another thing to note is that most Yurnero guides have really low ratings so they cant exactly be flawless.
This build is recommended for any player giving you a different look on Yurnero and I havenít seen this build used very often(I only said I havenít seen it but some people are probably using it already)
NOTE:in the items category will be the lost of possible items for you to get.Im not saying you get them all(obviously)
Yurnero playstyle:in a lane you have to either be very aggressive or defensive depending on your lane partner(later on this more on)
Role:He is an AGI hero which makes him extremely viable for a high dps semi carry and sometimes even carry if played well and farmed
Item Dependence:Yurnero doesnít need items early game to get easy kills except for mana regeneration
Carry:with the critical strike chance you can easily chop the enemy up making you a potential carry.
Pick Yurnero if:
You like playing agi
You hate getting stuned
You want to get early game kills(probably first blood) and also be effective late gaming
You like farming and killing your lane opponents at the same time
You can manage mana well
Someone in your team picks a disabler and comes with you in the lane(more later)
Great early game killer
High carry potential
Can lane with any1 with a stun
Jungling potential(better to lane but you can also jungle)
Can dodge spells
Godlike mana problems
Low starting attack(44-48 for a melee agi hero is not that great and makes last hitting a pain.
After his Blade Fury is over he is easily stoped by a stun leading to his death
Highly countered to creeps and summoners(like the Beastmaster)
Highly ally dependant to land Blade Fury PROPERLY
The early dominator build(recommended)
Justification:this build is best gotten if you have lane control due to a stuner(best one) or even a slower.It will give you early kills and the 2 levels of stats early allow for an increase of mana to caste VERY mana intensive Blade Fury and later even your ultimate.Also Healing ward and Blade Dance are much better late game then early game.Blade Dance is gotten before Healing ward because it costs no mana, allows for better farming and jungling and also Healing ward is more effective late game as a percentage based spell.
Justification:ONLY USE THIS if you have a mana battery like crystal maiden or ezalor/you got like 8 clarity potions at the beginning.This is the most mana intensive and high unrecommended build to go.I only use it when my team are hoping to go for a push strategy resulting in frequent team fights.Also even if you do have a mana battery use this only if you are being harassed hard or the above listed team fights reason.
Justification:If you have lane control you can use this to max out your carry potential and get your items before the enemy carries. Please ffs do NOT get this in a trilane.You WILL get owned so hard its ridicoulus.
OVERALL Omnislash discussion:some have argued that you can take omnislash later(especially if playing a farmer) in order to get more levels of Blade Dance
I say that omnislash gives huge lane control and gives for godlike laning.
When you use Blade Fury enemies will run and get far from the creeps allowing for Omnislash or in some strange cases will just sit and take the entire Blade Fury while your lane partner chops them up.
Ase you can see the Omnislash can give godlike lane control and actually gives more gold.
OVERALL Blade Fury discussion: some have also argued that you can adopt a build where you get Blade dance and some stats first then get Blade Fury
This is extremely stupid as Yurnero is NEVER a pure farmer.He needs to get early kills with his 700 nuke and 5 second magic immunity time.I highly unrecommend getting that build but if you feel like it go ahead.
Now this is an extremely aggressive item build.Its actually very hard to pull off as you get no stats.Only use with a disabler like Rhasta.
This build has its cons however since you are melee it WILL allow for easier last hits(you get in and out easier allowing less harassment against you.
Use this for first blood attempts and against HEAVY harassment teams
A nice build giving some stats for last hiting as well as some regeneration
Good with the skill build 1.
I recommend upgrading the branches into a wand
Similar to the last build except going for an earlier wand.
Wand is an extremely useful item giving some nice mana and hp
The reason why wand is so effective on Yurnero`s laning potential is that although mana is a big problem for Yurnero his spells donít cost too much mana actual.He just has a very small mana pool.
I recommend getting power tread as you cant phase while using Blade Fury. Arcane boots donít go together with your spells as although they would definitely solve your mana problems you MUST have some other fighting capability other then the Blad Fury.Boots of travel are good but they are way too expensive and donít give attack speed needed late game.
In conclusion power treads give great stat manipulation and attack speed needed by Yurnero(the more times you attack more crits you land)
Yurnero can farm fast so this is an option for him.Not an absolute core but can be effective.This gives nice stats,solves some mana probs and also gives 2 more slashes to your ultimate.Now since each slash does 150-250 damage this item will give you 300-500 extra damage on the ultimate which is not bad.Also please note that Yurnero can attack and even land crits while slashing if he has some attack speed so more slashes means more hits and possibly crits.This item is often overlooked for good reason.Yurnero has great carry potential and this item does little to improve it.I like getting it but its not very necessary.
NOTE: if you dont go for aghanim you have to make high dps items which i dont consider to be as effective because Yurnero can be owning in team fights with aghanim
You may wonder why not upgrade this into a Vanguard or a hood.Well you should definitely get this upgraded if you donít want to buy an aghanim.If you are planning to get the aghanim you shouldnít waste time upgrading the ring right now.It will delay aghanim unnecessarily.
A questionable item for Yurnero.Some mana regeneration.Improves your damage meaning slightly stronger crits and also the godlike lifesteal aura.
Please for the love of god donít get this thing if someone else is making it.
A highly situational item.
Only get it in 1 of 2 options
1.You are hoping to gank somebody so just use the extra damage from this and go Blade Fury.
2.You are a farmer getting ganked frequently.
I like this item as it has the highly useful windwalk giving monster ganking capabilities.Basicaly your opponents will take 900-1000 damage from just 1 attack to break invisibility plus Blade Fury.After that you can potentially finish the enemy with the ulti.If using your ultimate beware of creeps that are coming.
If you are having mana problems and also ganking frequently
Useful if your team goes for a team push strategy.
Team pushes mean that the enemy team has to get together to stop your push which will eventually lead up to team fights.
If you win the team fight you will have some nice charges and the push can be sustained further making sure you are all 100% hp and able to take down a tower or 2.
Highly underused item on Yurnero.
This thing is a beauty for his spells.The cool regeneration helps out with his low mana pool and the damage is useful as Yurnero can attack during his omnislash. Now just think.Each slash deals 150-250 physical damage.With aghanim you get 10 slashes meaning 1500-2500 damage.Now use it together with 700 nuke from blade fury and attacking while slashing you can deal 2500-3500 damage in those 10 slashes.With refresher orb you will be able to double that damage.More slashes means more attack from invincibility and another Blade Fury.Also works well with your ward.Altough the ward wont actually increase in effectiveness if there are 2 of them,having 2 allows for more effective and larger AoE healing that just kicks ass.
Basicaly with the orb you get to do around 3000 bonus damage if not on cooldown and also summon more wards.
Absolutely owning.Gives your entire team a nice bonus IAS as well as reducing enemy armor.This is significant because your ultimate does physical damage so less armor means more damage on ulti.Also,if you are playing with another carry it give him a great advantage in battle.
NOTE:more IAS means more attack while slashing which is actually very important.
A strong item.Gives a monster buff on your ultimate.Reduced armor goes into stronger ultimate and the extra buff on the damage is not bad either.
NOTE:2 of these items donít stack so make sure you donít have your entire team get it.
If someone however is making the Desolator you should get this.Applies a good orb effect and great IAS for godlike power during the 10/20 slashes(20 if you have Refresher orb)
Has SOME uses but I donít like it personally as only Blade Fury will profit from it but can be useful with Refresher orb so you casters can decimate the enemy
Use it on the enemy carry so he is shut down(2 times)
A great item on most AGI heroes
This is an excellent item and I highly recommend getting it.
Another great item giving good damage great farming and the AoE damage that is often overlooked but can be useful because slashes last for a decently long time.
Yurnero can fill many roles and this is how I rate him
Supporter:3/5(purely with wards)
Pusher:3/5(4/5 with a mana battery)
Sniper(how fast he can focus somebody in a team fight):2/5
Jungling:3/5(with a Crystal Maiden)
NOTE:for jungling use the Supporter skill build
Your team will generally get at least 1 disabler.You should be the one to lane with him.Blade Fury is an extremely powerful spell early game so if you can get close enough after your partner`s nuke then enjoy your first blood.
Make sure to last hit and deny and try to keep on the pressure even if you are melee(Yurnero has no problems going 3/0 before level 60
You can use the fear of your Fury to your advantage as the enemies will mostly start running when you are just close.Play mind games and juke the ranged enemies if they chase. I got a lot of kill when I was about 100hp.I would go to the forest and then the rhasta would just follow me hoping to land that annoying net. When he would come to the woods I would just spring Blade fury and enjoy the free kill
You should only gank once In a while because you are mana intensive and your ultimate(a great gank weapon ) has a large cd
When ganking attack the enemy,get close and Blade fury them.They will run and get away from the creeps,allowing for ultimate placement.
When ganking try to watch for creeps incoming which if not done could mess up your gank and even get you killed.For example if you are a Sentinel player ganking the top lane observe your bot lane for a rough position on enemy creeps.
Altough Yurnero has good ganking power donít overdo it as it could seriously delay his items.
Yurnero can be a good pusher with high mana so an ally like Crystal Maiden is priceless in pushes.Healing ward will sustain pushes and Blade Fury will do the pushes.Also make sure you donít go too far out without Blade Fury on or you could get sniped or droped to 50% HP for no good reason.
You are very capable of charging forward right after your initiator since you wont get nuked and by the time your magic immunity is over the rest of your team will have joined the fight so you can just place the ward and go into Omnislash.
Keep the ward in the middle of the fight since few people will focus it and it will give you great healing.
Try to find isolated targets for the Ominslash
NEVER use ominslash on a fleeing enemy while the fight just rages on. You might get the kill but the enemies will get 4 instead(the rest of your team)
Note that Yurnero is not a pure carry but has the potential to quickly kill enemy casters/supports/disablers but donít try to go head to head with the enemy carry
