Well, First I would like to Introduce Rylai CrestFall : the Crystal Maiden to You. (sowwi about that "Frost nova" in the pic)

1. Introduction


Alt-Tab MiniGuide : 2. The Hero

Play Style: Rylai Can be supporter killer, or Ganker, Mostly used as Disabler, her Ulti can change the Battle Tide ( if wasn't stunned )



Stats:
Tribe: Sentinels
Attack Animation: 0.55 / 0
Casting Animation: 0.3 / 2.4
Base Attack Time: 1.7
Attack Animation Speed ( Missile Speed ): 900
Sight Range: 1800(day)/800(night)
Damage: 38-44
Armor: 1.3
Move speed: 280
Attack Range: 600

Pros & Cons:
Pros :
-Ranged
-Ice(slow element) Skills
-One of my favorite Ultimates, For more though.
-Ultimate can Change Battle Tide if right used.
-Attack Animation Is low ( 0.55/0 )
-Not Item Dependant

Cons :
-Very Fragile
-2nd slowest movement speed ( techies is slowest ) (280)
-Channeling Ultimate
-Need to be used right by players have experience with her.
-Crystal Nova Isn't a powerful skill ( Just slow, Bad dmg )
-Bad farmer
-Bad Attack Damage.

3. The Skills

1.:
Crystal Nova:
Blasts enemy units around a target point with a wave of damaging frost that slows movement speed and attack rate for 5 seconds.

~Damage type : Magical.
~Any other Ice slowing Effect doesn't stack (lich's Skills, Freezing Field, Etc.)
~Will slow the affected units' move speed by 30% and attack rate by 20%.
~AoE: 400, Casting Range: 700, Cool down: 15 Seconds, Allowed Targets: Enemy Units.

That skill can be used for slowing late game, not a real dmg nuke.. but maybe used for ending or last hitting heroes that are trying to escape.

Lvl 1. 80 Damage, 15 seconds cooldown, uses 100 Manapoints, applies Slow Effect to the targets.
Lvl 2. 130 Damage, 15 seconds cooldown, uses 120 Manapoints, applies Slow Effect to the targets.
Lvl 3. 180 Damage, 15 seconds cooldown, uses 140 Manapoints, applies Slow Effect to the targets.
Lvl 4. 230 Damage, 15 seconds cooldown, uses 160 Manapoints, applies Slow Effect to the targets.

2.
Frostbite:
Freezes the target in a case of ice, prohibiting movement and attacking. Deals 70 damage per second.

~Damage type: magical.
~Some "Teleporting" spells work while FrostBite, those are:
Blink strike/ Phantom strike (Nessaj, Rikimaru and Mortred), Waveform, Morph Replicate (Morphling), Illusory Orb (Puck).
~Stops Channeling Spells
~Illusion Spells Can break the Frostbite " Like Siren skill ".
~FrostBite Reveals Invisible Heroes In It, Like Rikimaru or Gondar

This is Your Main "StopThere" Skill. But Sadly its for short time
But it deals Dmg Though, Which make it Unique Spell/Nuke

Lvl 1. 1.5 seconds Duration, 10 seconds cooldown, uses 115 Manapoints (70 dmg/sec )
Lvl 2. 2 seconds Duration, 10 seconds cooldown, uses 125 Manapoints (70 dmg/sec )
Lvl 3. 2.5 Second Duration, 10 seconds cooldown, uses 140 Manapoints (70 dmg/sec )
Lvl 4. 3 Second Duration, 10 seconds cooldown, uses 150 Manapoints (70 dmg/sec )

Brilliance Aura:
Gives additional mana regeneration to all friendly units (All over Map )

~Type : Global Aura.
~Stacks with Aura from Ring of Basillus or Vladimir
~This spell affects all friendly units with a manapool
~The bonus mana regeneration is not considered for percentage mana regeneration increases.

IMO that is a great skill, reason for smart team members to pick, If you are playing with your friends, where they picked casters, this will be a perfect choice hero.

Lvl 1. Adds 0.5 Mana Regeneration.
Lvl 2. Adds 1 Mana Regeneration.
Lvl 3. Adds 1.5 Mana Regeneration.
Lvl 4. Adds 2 Mana Regeneration.

4.
Freezing Field:
Causes many random icy explosions in an area surrounding Rylai. Enemy units in the Freezing Field are slowed. Can be improved by Aghanim's Scepter.

~Damage Type : Magical
~Hits invisible Heroes
~Area of Effect: 635. Every single explosion has also an AoE: 190.
~Slow Effect Doesn't Stack with Lich's Skills or Eye of Skadi.
~The slow is applied on all enemy units within an AoE of 635, even if they aren't hit by any explosion.

I may say no comment : Best Disabling/Slowing Ulti ever, If used right time and position.

Lvl 1. Each explosion deals 105 (170*) damage, 150 seconds cooldown, uses 300 Manapoints, 4 seconds Duration.
Lvl 2. Each explosion deals 170 (250*) damage, 120 seconds cooldown, uses 400 Manapoints, 4 seconds Duration.
Lvl 3. Each explosion deals 250 (310*) damage, 90 seconds cooldown, uses 600 Manapoints, 4 seconds Duration.

4. Skill Build

Lvl 1. Crystal Nova.
Lvl 2. Frost Bite.
Lvl 3. Brilliance Aura.
Lvl 4. Frost Bite.
Lvl 5. Frost Bite.
Lvl 6. Brilliance Aura.
Lvl 7. Brilliance Aura.
Lvl 8. Brilliance Aura.
Lvl 9. Frost Bite.
Lvl 10. Freezing Field.
Lvl 11. Freezing Field.
Lvl 12. Stats.

Q: Why max Aura first? Its your IMPORTANT Global Thing for The team.
Q: They then taking Frost Bite maxed after Aura? Aura is needed by the team, then you will get the frost bite to help you in ultimate, which will make sure for 1 or 2 kills at least.
Q: Why stats instead of Crystal Nova? Like Wendek Said, Its not for dmg, but its for slowing, that will help your team to get a kill in gank, more faster, and remember stats are more better than the dmg of crystal nova.
Q: FF At lvl 10 O_O ? YEAH AT lvl10. you don't need it at lvl 6, though you need Frost Bite Maxed to help more in it, yeah 0.5 sec makes diff. Believe me!

5. Item Build
~From Early to mid Game.

Starting Items.
Just Bottle (Get Branches with left money if in random) Or 2 Gauntlets of Strength and a Circlet (2 if random) and Tangos "Get Chicken if the team doesn't have after you get those items above".

Early to MidGame Items.
Well, You better get 1 or 2 Bracers if you can, Because Rylai is a Fragile hero, those bracers will help you okay for midgame.
For Boots now, I suggest you get PowerTreads ofcourse, For many reasons, First You need Movement speed, its not like you are going to get Yasha or something, Second you can switch between 10STR or 16INT Anytime you would like to.
Later on, Get Mekansm, From Branches you got in starting, get first, then get .
Try to get Kelen's Dagger of Escape in Mid Game ASAP.

Late Game Items.
Because that Rylai is Really Fragile hero, and main target for other team, because of her ultimate, Get Black King Bar , Then Get Guinsoo's Scythe of Vyse , Which Will help giving you Extra Disable, Giving a chance for +1 kill with ultimate or with team assist, Plus it gives Atkdmg/Manapool and Mana regen.

Optional Items.
Maybe Nerconomicon Would help, Speciall when you face Invisible enemies, Just as you upgrade it to lvl 3, You will have true sight, ASA you see the invisible hero, just Frost Bite him, Then Disable hex with the Vyse.. (if he wasn't dead yet :P).. HE'll be CraZy! Bout Zat!....
Aghanim's Scepter Is Obiviously Best Item to get in Late game, you can forget about Mekansm in late game, because it will become useless by the time passes....to Increase your Ultimate power.
Force Staff. is great item that will really help you so much, Think of it, Force staff + Crystal Nova + Frost Bite + Ultimate + Hex + few normal hits + Force staff on your self., Wow you can bring down Pudge or Centaur this way... that's AWESOME!
Blade Mail is not bad item, specially when you are facing heroes with High DPS or Carry heroes, Like Mortred or Traxex or " FFs Magina = Anti Mage " the most stupid hero you can face... that will bring him down if he tries to chase you, Plus Like I said Hex, Forcestaff, skills, you know the rest .. etc.

6. Game Play
Well, Pick up Rylai, Get Items, Run run for Mid Lane if wanna lvl fast or Pro at denying and last hitting, if not, go to down lane and sentinels and up lane at scourge, Again go down at sentinels and up at scourge.
Lvl up, learn skills, and go back when you get get bracers.. though they are important, you can go more through without those for now. on like 5 mins you should be able to have 2 bracers and ready to get treads later on, after you get treads, go quickly for Mekansm, and keep your eye on it, sometimes people get it and forget its for healing , Like I've used to do , haha Just keep in mind that when you( or allies near you ) about to die, use it in instance, and try savin' their or your life with disables you have, Don't just stand and watch it ..

Now we are about to say " Don't KS " is a great sentence for rylai. So You have to know what I mean.. that will make team more like you.. thought you are kind of supporter which may lead to gg for your team.
Just Ks in the Situation none can chase fleeing hero AND you don't have any other disables or nukes Except Crystal nova, if you have frost bite still, Use it though, and don't mind if someone else killed it, as you assisted be happy, Keep in mind you got extra point ^_^ .

Okie, Strategy on how to fight now, You first look at enemy heroe's HP .. if high... Use Crystal Nova First.. then use frost Bite, then go Ultimate, after getting closest safe point to him, He'll die for sure from that, anyway if he's still alive finish him up with Crystal nova, which should have the cool down gone already. And By the way, as I told up in the hints for Frost bite, DON'T DON'T DON'T frost bite a hero like Morphling, or blinkin' hero ( expect magina, he can't escape it ) or Void.. because his timewalk sadly works out of frost bite .

So now we know how to fight early and mid game, late game will be kind of hard on you, but you have to keep eyes on map, fog of war and try to push all lanes ASAP, though as I told above in Items Hex, your skills, and Force staff should be already enough to take any tank down, better if you got someone to assist you, Just don't cry if your mate ksed you, don't mind that, you are doing this for the team.

And as the time passes in late game, your time will get harder if you mind about ksing...( Like you cry for someone ksed you, or you ksed someone ) .. so if you wanna easy time late game, that you dont mind about KS and everyone will be pleased to help a great player like you :P .

Warding.
That will be useful enough, if you are a warding fan .


Now We are At GOODZ and BADZ

Friends (GOODZ) :
~AoE Disablers, you know them : .. Imagine any of these disables, or 2 of them merged with your ultimate... its total rape for the other team.. like Tide's, and Magnus' with your Ultimate, OMG!! OMG!!
Just be careful not making them leave the game sadly, , If there's a fleeing enemy, Give him a Cookie with Chicken Hex or, Ice Cream with your Frost Bite, Or Some Breeze with Force Staff .
~DPS/Carry :
You are the bread, they are the butter, Just give a disable, let them do the rest .
~Stunners O' Disablers :
You need a comment????.. Oh Sven's and tiny's stun is great with your ultimate, that's all I can say for you Sweet Reader
