Kris' Guide to getting your lane
the first step to winning it
the first step to winning it
Introduction:
Remember that game where you were an SF and wanted to solo mid but there was a sniper running to lane? Remember how you got trashed in the sidelane because of your auto attacking ally who wouldn't stun for you? Remember how you wanted to uninstall WC3 after that game? By following the steps in this guide you can make all those problems disappear. (this is high risk high reward, if you don't like that kind of play stop reading here)
Materials and Methods:
Method #1:
Essential items for forcing your way into a lane include an animal courier. Number 1, don't share it with because it is your bargaining chip.
When the game starts pick your hero (or random it) buy a chicken and run to lane before buying any more items. Stand near the second tower in that lane to show that you are going there. Bring your starting items to you on your chicken, while all of this happens be sure to hold position near the second tower to show you are not going to budge. People tend to think you are an idiot and leave you alone.
Method #2:
This method works best with 1-2 friends in the game with you. If one of your friends wants to solo or 2 of them want to dual lane then go force a trilane against the pubs in lane. They will leave because trilaning is forbidden and they will grudgingly go to another lane. Sometimes they will try to play chicken with you, if they do stand your ground and they will eventually get the message. People tend to think you are an idiot and leave you alone.
Method #3:
Pick chen. As surprising as it seems most people don't know about -disablehelp and even fewer people can type it out before they are ported to base as long as they are not expecting it.
Also works with heroes that can effectively block the player or force him into the other team. Tiny toss, ES fissure, Pugna decrep against a nuker lane etc... This tends to incite a lot of rage.
Method #4:
Pub rallying. When you are working out lanes if you ping someone twice and then ping another lane twice they will move to that lane in the majority of cases. In my experience 2 is the right number of pings for whatever reason, perhaps because 3 is simply obnoxious. People tend to think you care about what is best for the team and listen to your signals.
Method #5:
So you couldn't get your lane to yourself and now you have some extra baggage floating around. Don't worry there are a few ways to deal with these people. The easiest way is to incite them to go on the other team and then just get them killed. Unfortunately that doesn't work as well as it should so you normally have to body block them so your opponents can finish the job. This method comes with a lot of rage just like the chen method and should only be used as a last resort. If you share your chicken to these people you can force them to leave lane to get their items by moving the items to a different lane.
